35/37 Toronto Scout Group

It starts with Scouts! www.scouts.ca According to the 35/37th Scouts original charter, Scouting began at St. John's Norway in 1912. The groups meet at St.

This unit has continually operated and registered a Scout group every year since 1912. The 100th Anniversary Celebration was held in 2012 at St. Johns, making the 35/37th one of the oldest continuously operating Scout groups in Canada. The group operates five sections; Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers. John's Norway and up the street at Norway Public School.

A very chilly but fun weekend at camp! Despite the cold we managed to get in some fire lighting, sledding, hiking and games out in the snow. Made some fleece neck warmers as well for our winter skills OAS, and some fire starters to give us a better chance at getting them going in the snow!

Our "fall" competition camp this weekend had us working on some winter skills, but it was a blast! Everyone came prepared and had lots of fun despite the cold conditions.

Life at Haliburton is more than just the amazing program, it's all the moments in between filled with good food, new friends and lots of laughs (and the odd chicken dance here or there).

More great times from our week at Haliburton! The week at camp brings plenty of new challenges and skills, overcoming fears and setting new personal bests. Always a proud moment as a Scouter to see youth try something new or tackle an activity they may have hesitated on the year before.

As the summer comes to a close, we are taking a look back at our week at Haliburton Scout Reserve. One of the best parts of life at camp is the amount of time we spend in, on and around the beautiful water of Lake Kennabi.

Spent the weekend backpacking on the Bruce Trail! Hiked into the Riverside Woods Nature Reserve to set up camp, spent International Trails Day with a 16k loop through Hockley Valley Provincial Park, and hiked back out with our gear. 25km total for the weekend made for some tired feet but a great sense of accomplishment! Thanks for all the great work you do and the awesome crests!

Had a great weekend testing out our setup and skills for an upcoming backpacking adventure. Trilliums, birch bark, games, fireside staring contests and good times!

Today we celebrated BP's Birthday with cupcakes, games, and even some awards for our leaders at our group Fun Day.

Congrats to Scouter Pete who was awarded the Bar to the Silver Acorn, and Scouter Ed for his Honorary Member award from GTC!

Great morning out today delivering Santa Boxes and spreading some early holiday cheer! This annual tradition for our group is a great way to give back to the community. Thanks to our Scouts, Vents and parents that came out today!

Had a great time last weekend at camp! Weather got a little frosty, but pretty good for November 😂. Patrols did a great job with the challenges all weekend and cooked up some tasty meals. Thanks to the Vents for cooking for the leaders!
