The Olive Branch Outreach Society is looking to borrow a mannequins, with stands, for our upcoming Open House, on Saturday, April 5th, 2025. We have some grad outfits that we would like to display, as part of our "Goods for Grads" program. Due to the extreme weather, and the road conditions, the Olive Branch Outreach Society will be postponing our Bottle Drive Fundraiser, for Saturday, March 29, 2025. Unfortunately, the roads are not safe to travel, nor will it be warm enough to have our volunteers out walking door to door. For these reason we will be postponing the bottle drive until further notice. However, if you would like to donate your empty bottles, and cans, to the Olive Branch Outreach Society, you may do so by drop them off at the Stony Plain Bottle Depot, directly, and letting them know that you are donating the proceeds to the Olive Branch Outreach Society.

Saturday, April 5th, 2025, mark this date on your calendars. It's the first Open House for the Olive Branch Outreach Society. We will be hosting an Open House at 3920-49 avenue, in Stony Plain starting at 1pm. Join us for open conversations about community issues such as homelessness, affordable housing and more. Learn who the Olive Branch Outreach Society is, what we do, who we serve and what we can do for you and your community. Meet our Board of Directors and volunteers and maybe consider becoming a volunteer and/or a Board Member.

We're looking for someone is tech savy enough help us our website. We had it up and running and then all of a sudden it decided to shut down on on us. We have tried to get it back, but haven't had any luck. We are a nonprofit so our cash flow isn't great but if someone would be willing to help us for a minimum amount, or better yet for free, we would be very, very grateful. Christmas is a little over a week away and everyone is busy doing their last minute shopping. Buying gifts for family, friends and even the Grinchy co-worker who drives everybody crazy. Getting those last minute items for Christmas dinner, the succulent turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and all the yummy goodies that accompany them. We are all so very, very fortunate to be able to have these wonderful delicacies and amazing gifts, not mention being surrounded by all those that we love and cherish.
But for far too many Albertans those luxuries do not exist. They have no warm place to call home, no hot Christmas dinner to fill their bellies, no family or friends to help spread the Christmas cheer with, and no presents under the tree, not mention they don't even have a tree.
This is the time of year when giving is more important than ever. Organizations like the Bissel Centre, Hope Mission, the Late Night Cafe (Spruce Grove), Coats for Kid's/Families, The Kinsman, Santa's Anonymous, Parkland Food Bank and the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton, the Olive Branch Outreach Society, and so many more nonprofit organizations count on the joy of the season to help those in need. But we can't do it without the help of generous folks like you. PLEASE, PLEASE, give to one of the organizations that are mentioned here. Every dollar, every can of soup, every warm pair of mittens will mean so much to someone who has so little. Help us, and Santa, make everyone's Christmas a little brighter, this year, by donating a small unwrapped toy, a can of soup or a couple of dollars to a local nonprofit charity. Let someone know that you care this Christmas.

Gentle reminder that the Olive Branch Outreach Society will be at the Rehoboth Christian Ministries Christmas Craft Sale & Pancake Breakfast, this Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 9am to 1pm at 3920-49 avenue (between the Fire Hall and Bottle Depot). in Stony Plain. Once again we'll be selling some of our delicious baked goods, cookies, tarts, square and dinner buns. We will also be selling our handmade knitted toques, handcrafted Christmas cards and a beautiful handmade knitted blanket. Stop by and see us, and while you're there check out the other vendors, including Rehoboth's table (everything is handmade with love) and maybe even grab a delicious breakfast of pancakes, sausage, coffee, tea and juice. Christmas shopping without all the fuss and hussle and bustle of the mall. Santa is planning on join us too.

Looking for some yummy Christmas treats. Why not check out the Olive Branch Outreach Society's first annual "Cookie Walk & Holiday Photos" this Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Stony Plain United Church (5012-51 ave.) in Stony Plain, from 10am to 2pm. We'll have tarts, squares, mini loaves, buns and of course cookies (including some gluten free options). Don't have a sweet tooth? Then stop by and have your family photo taken (on your choice of 2 backdrops) and create a family Christmas card. Santa will be available for pictures as well. We even have cookies for the little ones to decorate. Stop on by and check us out.

Well, it's finally happened. The weather has started getting colder and the trees have shed their leaves. That means that soon the snow will fall and the air will be crisp and cold. It also means that Christmas will soon be upon us.
The Olive Branch Outreach Society will be hosting our first annual "Cookie Walk and Photos with Santa on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Stony Plain United Church 5012-51avenue, in Stony Plain. We will be there from 10am to 2pm. Come out and check out our delicious holiday treats. There will be a variety of squares, tarts, loaves, buns and of course cookies. And don't forget to stop by and say "Hi" to the jolly ole elf and maybe have your picture taken for your family Christmas card. Santa would love to see all the littles, and even the big kids too. Hope to see you there.
