🏀 NYB Summer Skills Camp 🏀

NYB is proud to offer a Summer Skills Basketball Camp for boys and girls ages 6–14 who love the game and want to take their skills to the next level.

Led by experienced instructors:
• Micayla Drysdale – former NCAA Division 1 player & coach, personal trainer, and high school coach
• Sergio Fuca – former CIS player, program instructor, and long-time high school and Rep coach

Our camp focuses on skill development, game understanding, and confidence building in a fun and competitive environment. Additional counsellors will be on hand to support instruction and ensure a great experience for all campers.

📢 JDA Ballers Update

There will be NO JDA Ballers (Grades 1–2) session this Thursday, May 14.

🏀 Sessions will resume Thursday, May 21.

Please note:
✅ This only affects the Ballers group (Grades 1–2)
✅ Mini Ballers and NDA programs will continue as scheduled this week

To make up for the missed session, an additional week has been added on Thursday, May 28 for Ballers participants only.

Congratulations to the Newman Youth U15 Girls Basketball Team!

What an incredible 2025-2026 season!

This team played every game with Heart, Passion, Integrity and Skill - representing Newman with pride every time they stepped on the court. Their dedication, teamwork and determination were evident all season long, and they should be incredibly proud of everything they accomplished together.

While their season may be over, their journey is just getting started. Their love for the game and passion to get better each day continues to grow and the excitement for next season is already in full force.

The future is bright for these amazing athletic leaders.

NYB U14 Girls make history 🏆

In their very first rep season, this incredible group captured the Division 10 Ontario Cup Championship — and did it in style.

Made up entirely of first-time rep players, many rising through NYB’s own house league program, these girls showed what hard work and belief can accomplish. After a season of growth and grit, they took on the previously undefeated team in the finals and earned a huge 39–32 victory to bring home gold.

Led by Coach Svetlana and Assistant Coach Christina, this team’s journey is a true testament to perseverance, teamwork, and determination.

The future is bright 💪🏀

The U13 Boys Dempsey team left it all on the court this season. Through every challenge and every big moment, they showed resilience, growth, and a commitment to getting better together.

Proud of how far this group has come—this is just the beginning for a talented crew. 🏀💪

The NYB U11 Boys wrapped up a season full of growth, grit, and team-first basketball. 💪🏀

Playing over 30 games across OBL play and multiple tournaments, the boys competed every single time they stepped on the court. Highlights included a strong 3-1 finish to capture 3rd place at the IEM Newmarket Tournament, and a hard-fought 2-2 showing at Provincials — including a tight 3-point loss to the eventual gold medalists.

Week in and week out, the team battled for the “Hustle Board” — celebrating the player who brought it all with rebounds, steals, deflections, and floor burns. It was never about who scored, but about who competed.

This group defined what it means to be a team — sharing the ball, trusting each other, and locking in defensively every game.

The future is bright as they get ready to take the next step at U12. 🔥
