Freedom Farms Animal Sanctuary

Freedom Farms Animal Sanctuary Freedom Farms is a safe haven, “freedom” for animals rescued from abuse, neglect and abandonment

As part of Freedom Farms Animal Sanctuary (registered non-profit), we have a feral cat program that will assist in locally funded TNVR. We have our own fixed feral colony of 45+permanent residents and also have a special needs program for the truly unadoptable. We are not an agency that takes in/adopts out cats or kittens, so please don't ask us if we can take in (unless you have an agency that ha

s provided funding and committed to a rehome plan, medical costs etc.). We are very private and will only allow visitors by appointment only to ensure we don't disrupt the beautiful balance of peace, harmony and playfulness that exists on our 42 acre farm.

Too Sweet!

Our newf Breton had TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery last Wednesday. Included in all the required at-home rehab is the need to massage the leg to reduce swelling/bruising etc. several times a day…Our kitten Meatball is contributing in her own way❤️

On the chicken menu this morning: laying mash, blackberries and a smattering of mealworms for dessert. Apparently one of our hens, Helen, prefers to join the barn cats and partake in the kitty culinary experience to top off her breakfast…

Our wee “Meatball” (middle in pic) is thriving!

About three weeks, and still being bottle fed, is loving the company of two other kittens in her pen in the kitchen. Mutually beneficial to her for companionship and the barn kittens for socialization with our indoor population, household activities, and dogs❤️

Good News, Sad News…

This little furball of loveliness came to us on Saturday, found abandoned at a local residence. Approximately two weeks old, with a healthy belly and a ton of personality, I am confident she will be just fine. I on the other hand have to get back into the bottle feeding at night rhythm - if only I could time with my night hot flashes/sweats lol 😂

On a sadder note, the day-old orange/white babe that was recently brought to us failed to thrive, despite the efforts of our resident mamas and attempts at bottle feeding. We tried! 🌈❤️❤️❤️

Black Cat Bonanza!

For all the lovers of black cats, Freedom Farms has seven little beauties (6- short hair, 1 long) that are looking for their furever homes❤️

They range from 8-12 weeks, have been dewormed and flea treated, pending first vaccinations.

Apparently there is feline frustration as I’m six minutes late for dinner service…Another round of 👎 reviews coming on their PURRveyors of Kitty Culinary Excellence social media page😊

Sydney (newf) took action and attempted to disburse the mob so I could safely get to my station❤️

We were contacted yesterday aft about a 1-2 day old kitten, umbilical cord still attached, was found under a tree, alone in the blazing sun, no mama in sight (many possibilities on what could have wrong). We are full up and not accepting new residents/interns, but we had to help! Have three nursing mamas (really at the tail end of their journey) and mama Princess Peach is up for the challenge ❤️❤️❤️

Our Beloved Braveheart🌈

Braveheart came to Freedom Farms in December of 2021 as a special needs kitty with mild/medium CH (Cerebellar Hypoplasia). She was a super sweet, loving, and completely healthy lady until she recently suffered a thromboembolism (blood clot) that resulted in rear end paralysis. She had no known previous cardiovascular issues and was a super active “wobbly” cat.

We had hope that the paralysis would subside/improve, but alas it did not😞. During her period of treatment she was otherwise bright eyed, eating, purring etc., which made an already very hard decision just that much harder.

Bless you my sweetheart❤️.

Be “Brave” and embrace your journey across the rainbow bridge with all the “Heart” you showed and shared on earth❤️❤️❤️
