About the adoptable: Theo came to us from animal control with a broken spirit. He arrived incredibly shut down, timid, and scared of the world around him. Since coming into our care, he has slowly started to come out of his shell and is learning that people can be kind. Theo loves affection and you can tell how badly he wants to trust and be loved. He just needs someone who is willing to give him the patience, kindness, and time he needs to feel safe. Walking on a leash is completely new to Theo. The moment a leash is placed around his neck, he freezes, so his future family will need to work with him slowly and patiently as he builds confidence and learns that there is nothing to be afraid of. Theo may need a little more time than some dogs, but underneath all that fear is an incredibly sweet soul who wants so badly to love. He just needs someone willing to show him that he is finally safe.
