When a community believes in a project, it becomes something truly special.
A heartfelt thank you to The Steinbach Community Foundation for supporting our Bringing Care Closer initiative. This project began with a simple idea that kids' health should never depend on their postal code. The backing we've received from communities across Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario has only reinforced how vital this work is.

MEET SCF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR LYNDA LAMBERT. Lynda loves bringing people together in the community to work collectively towards the “common good”. Community development and support have always been a top priority for her.

She has worked in the Manitoba community foundation movement for a number of years as Executive Director and as a member of the Endow Manitoba Team at The Winnipeg Foundation. Lynda has enjoyed learning more about southeast Manitoba and is looking forward to more new adventures.

She enjoys riding motorcycle, fancies herself as an artist through painting and sewing, and loves hosting dinner parties with friends and family.

MEET SCF BOARD MEMBER CRYSTAL HILDEBRANDT. Crystal’s roots in southeastern Manitoba deeply influenced her strong community spirit and sense of responsibility. After time in Winnipeg, she made Steinbach her home, maintaining close ties to the region. Throughout her career, Crystal has collaborated with local businesses and organizations, fostering connections and supporting initiatives that keep the community informed and engaged.

Beyond her professional work, she volunteers with minor sports and serves on local boards, demonstrating a heartfelt commitment to community growth and involvement that continues to shape her journey.

MEET SCF BOARD YOUTH REPRESENTATIVE ROBERT BANMAN. Robert shines at Steinbach Regional Secondary School, excelling in Mathematics and Sciences while dominating on the volleyball court. Known for his teamwork and dedication, he inspires both teammates and classmates. Beyond school, Robert’s passion to help others drives him to improve his community, shaping a brighter future with energy and acumen.

MEET SCF BOARD MEMBER ANDREW WARKENTIN. Andrew works at Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP as a lawyer and practices primarily in the areas of civil litigation, property and development, and municipal law. After graduating high school, Andrew moved to Winnipeg to complete his undergraduate degree in Criminology/Sociology, and later to Ottawa to complete his law degree.

Despite now living and working in Winnipeg, Andrew remains fond of his Steinbach roots. He can be found working from his firm’s office in town on occasion and returns to Steinbach often to visit his friends and family. Andrew is pleased to serve on The Steinbach Community Foundation Board as his way to give back to the community of his birth that helped shape who he is as a person
today.

In his spare time, Andrew enjoys playing hockey, softball, fishing, and attending local concerts.

MEET SCF BOARD MEMBER KEN WIEBE. Residing just outside Grunthal in rural Manitoba, Ken has enjoyed a fulfilling life after retiring from 38 years of farming. Alongside his wife, Ken has been deeply involved in community service, dedicating 24 years as a board member of Granny’s Poultry and 14 years supporting Menno Home for the Aged. Passionate about building strong communities, he strives to create a great place to live, work, and play.

In his leisure time, Ken loves spending quality moments with his grandchildren, working in his shop, and tackling general construction projects. Together with his wife, they embrace worldwide adventures, traveling extensively across Europe, South America, Mexico, and Canada.
