Annual Christmas Tree Campaign in Memory of Marty, Beverly, and Doris Pinnock

The Nashwaak Villa Foundation, with the heartfelt support of our Helping Hands group, is proud to announce the 13th Annual Christmas Tree Campaign! Each year, we illuminate the grounds of Nashwaak Villa throughout the festive season, creating a joyful display for our residents and the entire community to enjoy. Trees will once again be placed in the front living room, dining room, interior courtyard, and along the front driveway—bringing light, warmth, and celebration to our home.

This year’s campaign holds special meaning as we honour the memory of Marty, Beverly, and Doris Pinnock. Marty generously supplied many of our trees over the years, while Bev was a beloved volunteer in our Helping Hands gift shop. Doris, Marty’s mother and a long-time resident of Nashwaak Villa, brought grace and kindness to our community. All three have passed in recent years, and we are deeply honoured to carry forward the legacy of generosity, compassion, and community spirit they embodied.

Supporters of our campaign may choose from two meaningful ways to contribute—whether in memory of a loved one or as a seasonal gift from your family or business:
- Traditional Tree with Lights – $100 contribution
- Tag on our Memorial Tree – $50 contribution

All proceeds support our Helping Hands fundraising efforts, which enhance resident programming and other initiatives that improve quality of life at Nashwaak Villa.

How to Donate: Donations may be made in person (cheque or cash) or via e-transfer to [email protected]. If donating by e-transfer, please include the following in your message:
- Your full name
- Purpose of donation (e.g., “For Christmas Tree Campaign”)
- Contact information (email and/or phone number)
- Name of the person or group you wish to honour (if applicable)

We kindly ask that all donations be received by November 30th, in preparation for our Tree Lighting Event on December 3 at 6:30pm. Thank you for helping us brighten the season and honour the memory of those who’ve made Nashwaak Villa so special.

Happy Holidays!

Tickets for sale – Hummingbird Carving Draw - December 15, 2025

Artist Bio – Dan Cleveland (The Crafty Bastard) is a local folk artist who carves unique, one-of-a-kind pieces from found and reclaimed wood gathered along the shores of the Wolastoq River. Using only traditional hand tools, Dan creates work that reflects the natural beauty, character, and spirit of the wood itself. Each piece carries the story of the river and the land it came from, blending craftsmanship with a deep respect for nature and heritage. Working under his brand name The Crafty Bastard, Dan’s folk art pieces celebrate individuality and imperfection—each creation shaped by hand, heart, and history.

Picture of the carving, cost of tickets, how you can get them and how you can reach out to Dan are in the first comment. Please “love” and share our post to spread the word.

Thank you so much for your continued support to the Helping Hands Group/Nashwaak Villa Foundation (they help raise money for residents’ activities of the Nashwaak Villa (snuggle therapy doll, trips out to town for a treat, steadymate walker, bolsters to assist nursing staff, bingo prizes, secret Santa gifts).
