The Fish, Food and Allied Workers Union (FFAW-Unifor) is Newfoundland and Labrador's largest private sector union, with a history steeped in the fishing industry. Most of our members are employed in the inshore fishery, through fishing on inshore vessels, to dockside monitoring and seafood processing. Harassment and Bullying: Bullying and harassment happen in many places and come in many different forms – from using offensive and malicious language, to making threats. We do not tolerate this kind of behavior because it prevents our staff and membership from feeling safe and respected. We allow constructive discussion, which often includes critical commentary. However, the page administrator has an obligation to maintain a safe space and will remove all malicious commentary, and ban the author from the page so to maintain a respectful environment. Context and intent matter, and the page administrator will use tools available on Facebook to help protect against content that is intended to intimidate or exclude. While discussions may become heated and can be political in nature, there is a distinct difference between a passionate discussion and one that is intended to offend and harm. Language and Trolling: As a public, family-friendly page, vulgar language will be promptly removed, and the author will be banned.
