Why did she say that?

In 2023, Lynn Shannon, BOD, said her “most successful projects were project failures.”

Hmmm, what?

Yes, according to Lynn, the learnings from her plans gone wrong and gone totally wrong put her in a much more strategic vantage point ♟️

After all, when you’ve had worst case scenarios happen IRL, you start your next project much more (mentally and emotionally) prepared.

You might start from zero but not from scratch! 🤝

How does PM of the Year, founder, educator, 9 to 5er, and mother, , manage her time?

To quote her, Ogaga’s is “ruthless with [her] calendar…say no to things…stick to only 2-3 core tasks every day.”

-How many fires does she put out a day? 🔥
-Does she have a favorite project or does Ogaga love them all the same? ❤️‍🔥 (spoiler alert: she does)
-And a soft skill she wishes she had mastered before…because another spoiler alert: project management IS about people

This September, take the stage at the Symposium and establish yourself as a thought leader.

PMINL is looking for *the* dynamic speakers, thought leaders, and practitioners in our midst who can share real-world case studies, best practices, and leadership insights.

You might want to consider:

👉 The usual presentation length is 20 minutes plus a 10-minute Q&A
👉 Last year, we had 70+ attendees...and it was only a half-day event!
👉 This year's theme is "25 Years of Leadership, Innovation, and Impact"
👉 You DON'T need to be a PMINL member to present!

How do you negotiate for more (benefits, PD, $$) at work? Should you even be asking for more?

In this economy!!!

And what do you mean, instead of asking for a pay increase?! 🤑🤪

In project management speak, you seek alignment with your stakeholders i.e. manager, HR, etc.

What do they care about? Do you have evidence to back a claim back?

In the words of , host of the Sip and Share last May, “I want [insert what you want] and this is going to benefit the organization because [insert 2-3 points on the ROI of you getting that extra something].”

Other than drive you a little mad…they’re your stakeholders and benefit from clear comms and expectations 😉

So what went down at the first Sip and Share?

-We laughed…a lot
-Chenel facilitated a conversation that started with framing the PMP as one more bargaining chip we bring to the table
-To HOW and IF you should SAY NO to more work: Chenel said document and bring this up during performance review. Jennifer said don’t be so quick to say no.
