Congratulations to MA student (Ethnomusicology) Linus Glaesemer on being co-awarded the 2025 Student Paper Prize from the Society for Traditional Music for his paper "Quiet Labor: Beatmakers, Vernacular Theory, and the Politics of Inaudibility,” presented at the society’s Fall 2025 Virtual Conference!

The prize committee praised the paper for its richness of ideas and its grounding in lived relationships and experiences, noting it as a meaningful contribution to the field.
