What a beautiful way to end the ISC 2025-26 Term! Look at all these faces of excellence!

It was truly an honour for ISC to be able to host such an important event! International students are the cornerstone of Memorial University's success and community. Their efforts and contributions must be documented and celebrated!

ISC RISE started with this hope and we, the team, hope this legacy is maintained for all the years to come!

We were truly honoured to attend the Volunteer Reception at Government House, hosted by Her Honour Joan Marie Aylward in celebration of National Volunteer Week 2026.

Representing the International Students Resource Centre (ISC), President Quazi M. Abrar and VP of Events & Planning Sanaa Mrad were grateful to be part of this meaningful celebration of volunteerism and community impact.

This year’s theme, “Igniting Volunteerism,” reflects the heart of what we strive to do at ISC every day, which is building inclusive, supportive spaces for international students and beyond.

Recognizing International Students of Excellence

Every international student carries a story. Of courage, sacrifice, resilience, and becoming.

Some started from uncertainty, far from home.
And yet, they built something remarkable.
In their classrooms. In their communities. In this university.

ISC RISE is here to celebrate you.

We are recognizing international students (undergraduate & graduate) who have made exceptional contributions through their work, leadership, research, creativity, or impact.

Selected recipients will receive:
• A certificate of excellence
• A medal
• An honorarium
• A chance to share their story and inspire others

Know someone who deserves to be recognized? Or is it you?

That night under the whale, the world was held together. The starts aligned, the stars sat still, the stars sang and the stars danced.

Here's to 37 years of languages, rhythms and memories.
