SENIOR DOG, CHLOE, NEEDS HELP

Cough, cough, cough. We’re told that’s all this poor senior sweetie does. 😿

We’re told that dear little Chloe, who is fourteen, has had this terrible cough FOR MONTHS and is now lethargic 💔

Chloe has progressed to having “trouble getting off the floor” and desperately needs to be seen by a vet.

She is is still eating, but clearly needs a veterinary work up.

Chloe’s elderly owners died and she was taken in by a family member who was initially in better financial shape, but now can’t afford to provide this senior pup with the vet care she needs.

We helped Chloe with a minor vet bill a few months ago and now with this bad cough, she really needs us. She could be in heart failure and require medication.

Chloe’s Mom Says;

“I am so embarrassed to even write because I used to work and I brought her to the vet for everything, but now I’m just down and out and don’t know where to turn.”

We’d like to to make it possible for Chloe to be seen tomorrow or Tuesday (as soon as she can be fit in).

MOO UPDATE: GOOD NEWS ❤️

Thanks to the caring community, Moo had his ECG yesterday and there is funds leftover to cover his follow-up bloodwork.

His family should receive the results of his heart scan next week and then they’ll know whether he is on the right medication.

Thank you a million times over for helping a sweet cat and the family who loves him dearly.

An echocardiogram that is financially out of reach.

A lot of tears. A lot of stress. 😿

Sweet Moo was recently discovered by his mom late one evening struggling to breathe. 😿

Rushed to the clinic that was on-call, he was hospitalized to the tune of $2500 because he had fluid buildup around his heart. 💔

Moo having a heart issue has broken his mom’s as he is her “baby.” Moo needs an echocardiogram, but it is beyond his family

Moo’s hospitalization and follow-up visit cost his family $3000 that they truly don’t have; his mom is only in her forties, but because of a very challenging chronic health issue, she is on a disability pension.

Now he needs a heart scan and follow up bloodwork that will cost in the range of $1500 plus.

Moo’s family - like so many people - live paycheque to paycheque. They have no more credit wiggle room for getting Moo the echocardiogram he needs and this is causing them heaps of guilt and worry. 💔

No one wants their animal to go without owing to money. 😿

Moo needs this heart scan, so that his vet can know precisely what is going on with his heart and ensure he is on the right medication.

You could not meet a kinder, generous, selfless, braver, more deserving person of help than Moo’s mom - take it from us.

Despite living with serious chronic pain and exhaustion, whenever her health allows, Moo’s mom drags herself out of the house to help animals in need.

I could list out all the things she does for the community despite her pain, but suffice it to say she’s the closet thing to an angel you will find down here in this weary planet.

Moo’s mom has helped such a lot of animals that she deserves some help with her own.

Please help HC come to Moo’s aid, so that we can ensure he is on the right medication and his mom doesn’t have to lose sleep worrying that he isn’t getting the care he needs.

Odin’s owner was just in touch to say she has received a lot of interest in him.

She further said she has someone lined up to meet him and if that does not work out, she will respond to the rest of the emails she received.

Thanks for helping to spread the word about him. Fingers crossed that this Dane gets the right home soon.

ODIN’S OWNER SAYS:

“Odin was born on April 26, 2025, and he is not neutered.

He is a very loving, affectionate and playful dog with lots of energy. He is fully house-trained and crate-trained. He sleeps in his crate at night and also stays in it when we leave the house.

We have two children and he absolutely loves them. He is very cuddly and loves being close to his family.

He has not had a lot of socialization outside of our home, so he can be nervous and fearful in unfamiliar situations or around new people.

He is also not comfortable with car rides and does not like getting into a vehicle unless his crate is inside.

This is a very difficult decision for us.

We currently have three dogs as well as children, and unfortunately it has become more than I can manage.

I want to be completely honest about his needs because my main concern is finding him a safe, patient and permanent home where he can receive the time and attention he deserves.

I would be happy to provide photos, , additional details about his personality and behaviour, or anything else you may need.”

TOUTON: HEARING-IMPAIRED CAT GETS SECOND CHANCE AT A GOOD LIFE ❤️

This little orange tabby fellow, who we named Touton, came into the care of Heavenly Creatures recently.

He is the sweetest little fellow: he wants little more than to cuddle with whoever is nigh.

Touton arrived at HC as an emergency.

We don’t feel we can go into detail about what was done to him, but suffice it to say it is an awful thing to do any animal, much less one who has very limited hearing. 😿

The happy news is that we have had all his vet work done and he has new digs: volunteers of ours quickly became smitten with his darling self when they came to our building to feed him and the others.

They have taken him home and hope that it will be a purrmanant thing.

Touton is segregated from their other cats for now, but if he does well with them once he is introduced to them soon, he will be adopted.

They understand cats well and know it could take some time.

We’ll keep you posted on this sweet survivor.

ACE IS FEELING BETTER ❤️

This adorable little fellow is one of the many animals HC helped through our vet bill assistance program this summer.

Ace is a pug mix who had a a dental infection in one tooth which was making him uncomfortable. His owner was not able to afford to have it treated, so reached out to HC for assistance.

HC paid for the poor little fellow to have an exam, antibiotics and then later a recheck of his mouth.

Ace’s owner called us a few days ago with an update and to emphasize how grateful he and Ace for the help.

He reported that Ace is back to his old self, including playing with his toys. ❤️

REST IN PEACE, NOGGY 💔🪽🌈

Yesterday, this beautiful Siamese boy crossed The Rainbow Bridge.

Noggy was one of a number of emergencies with which we were dealing yesterday.

Noggy, who was fifteen years, was suffering terribly because he couldn’t p**p.

His mom had called us in great emotional distress as he hadn’t been able to go at all in four days (he had recently started suffering from chronic constipation; this had been going on for weeks to varying degrees) and she was helplessly watching him suffer owing to lack of funds 💔

The poor fella had been to the litterbox eighteen times the day before to no avail. 😿

His mom loves him dearly, but had no money with which to help her beloved boy, so she reached out to HC and begged for help through tears.

We’re trying not to take on anymore vet bill assistance cases until sometime in September as we’re already overwhelmed, but this poor senior cat was suffering and his
mom was crying . . .

Noggy’s mom sent us her proof of low income and we arranged for him to see a clinic yesterday to try to get to the bottom of why he suddenly couldn’t use the bathroom despite no change in diet.

We knew that at his age the cause of the sudden constipation could be something sinister such as kidney failure or a tumour.

Sadly, Noggy’s mom called us from the vet clinic sobbing to say that the x-rays showed he was full of fluid - the vet felt he likely had a tumour.

She and the vet made the hard decision to put him to rest and HC paid for it, so that he wouldn’t continue to suffer.

Noggy’s mom left the clinic with an absolutely broken heart and took his remains homes to bury, so that we would always have him close by 😿

The exam, bloodwork, x-rays and euthanasia cost HC almost $1200, but it was well worth it to relieve this old cat’s suffering and that of his mom’s - no one should have to watch their pet be in pain with no ability to help them.

Rest in Peace, Noggy. Your momma loves you very much and will never forget you.

MIAH UPDATE: The exploratory surgery revealed no foreign body as was suspected, but without it we wouldn’t have known. We don’t yet know for sure why she’s been so sick these last couple of days. Mia’s vet thinks she may have gastritis (she was not using the bathroom normally, or eating/drinking normally before the surgery). If she doesn’t return to normal digestive function soon, we will bring her back to the clinic. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who has made it possible for us to provide Miah with vet care. Her mom is very relieved and grateful.

We hope that everyone can find it in their hearts to rally for this sweet girl who is in trouble today. 😿

Miah wants to live.

She didn’t mean to be a bad girl, but Miah’s the type of curious, mischievous cat who likes to get into things. 🤦‍♀️

Miah has been very ill the last two days and there is reason to believe that she may have gotten into a basket that was stored in a closet which had cellophane straw type stuff in it - it looks as though she may have eaten some of it. Her x-rays look “suspicious” for a blockage.

Miah’s vet feels that she needs emergency exploratory surgery TODAY. If she has this stuff in her, it could get wrapped around her intestines.

The problem is, Miah’s mom - like so many of us - is living paycheque to paycheque (we’ve seen proof of income).

She can’t begin to afford the $3000-$3500 that today’s surgery would cost. 😿

We are already overwhelmed with cases - we have two other animals who are acutely sick/need emergency care at vet clinics today - we don’t want to let Miah down.

Why?

Miah is only five (She has a lot of living left to do).

Her mom would be heartbroken if she didn’t get the care she needed and had to continue to suffer at home.

Helping, rather than judging, is the right thing to do.
