KODA NEEDS AN ADOPTIVE HOME!

KODA’S OWNER SAYS:
Koda is an 8-year-old Husky/Malamute mix who is genuinely a wonderful, sweet, and gentle giant.
He has never shown any signs of aggression and is great with children and cats. He also does well with other dogs and has so many qualities that make him an amazing companion.
Koda’s primary challenge is separation anxiety.
When left alone for more than short periods, he experiences distress, which can lead to barking, crying, and howling. He thrives on companionship and would benefit greatly from an environment where someone is home with him the majority of the time.
Efforts have been made to manage Koda’s separation anxiety through veterinary appointments, medications such as Gabapentin and Anafranil, pheromone diffusers, leaving the radio on, playing television shows, and other techniques to help him feel more comfortable when alone. While some approaches have resulted in slight improvements, his anxiety remains a challenge for his current owner to continue managing given a recent but unavoidable change to their personal circumstances.
Despite this, Koda is a gentle and affectionate dog who has so much love to give. He deserves a patient and understanding foster home that can provide him with companionship, reassurance, and a supportive environment while continuing to work with him on his separation anxiety.
We are hoping to find Koda an adoptive home where he can feel safe, loved, and supported.
The ideal home would have someone available to spend plenty of time with him and understand the patience and commitment required to help a dog struggling with separation anxiety.
As long as he is not alone, Koda will relax and settle in just about any environment.
Koda has so many wonderful qualities, and we hope to find someone willing to look beyond his anxiety to give this sweet boy the opportunity to thrive.”
