Exciting News! SPANL is launching a Kids Summer Reading Program! 📚

We're thrilled to announce that we're launching a Summer Reading Program for our families this year! To make it a success, we’re collecting new and gently loved books for children and teens (ages 0-18). If you have books to donate, please make sure used books are in good condition—no rips, stains, or missing pages.

We are collecting books throughout April at our office, 472 Logy Bay Rd, 9am-4pm, Monday-Friday.

Help us fill young minds with the joy of reading this summer! 💙

Does anyone know where there are public washrooms in St. John’s with these higher toilets that are at wheelchair height rather than standard height?

Some wheelchair users can only transfer if the toilets are at an accessible height and a follower is trying to determine where they can access these in public, as most restrooms don’t seem to have anything besides standard height toilets.

We’re excited to announce a new event! 🎉 Unfortunately, our spooky crafts event was canceled due to low registration, but we’re thrilled to bring you this new gathering instead! 🧡

Calling all 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and allies aged 20 and under! Join us for a fun and inclusive experience.

Event Details:

2SLGBTQIA+ youth and allies in Grades 7–12 or those who have recently graduated in the past two years from a Newfoundland and Labrador high school and who are 12-20 years old are invited to join us and learn more about a community research project we're very proud to be part of: Empowering Educators and Peers to Reduce Gender-Based Violence Experienced by 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth in NL🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️. This project is in partnership with Crow Kinship Consulting and friends from Egale Canada, Labrador Friendship Centre, and Mokami Status of Women Council/Women's Centre.
