From local shops and cafés to the beautiful trails, waterfront, and routes to roam, there’s so much to appreciate in our little corner of the world, where businesses meet nature.

Thank you for shopping local, exploring downtown, and helping our community thrive. Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with good food, great company, and time spent enjoying the beauty around us.

A strong turnout. Great conversations. An important opportunity to shape Squamish’s future.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us on Monday evening for the All Candidates Meeting at Don Ross Middle School, both in person and online! Hosted by the Joint Engagement Committee Downtown Squamish BIA, Tourism Squamish and the Squamish Chamber Of Commerce, in partnership with The Chief, we were thrilled to see such a great turnout and so much engagement from our community.

Thank you to all the candidates for showing up, sharing your vision for Squamish, and tackling the tough questions. And a special thanks to Ryan Kinghorn of Coast Mountain Law for keeping the evening running smoothly!

But the conversation doesn’t end here! It’s so important to get informed before you vote. Take the time to understand where candidates stand on the issues that matter to you and for us at Downtown Squamish, that means the future of our downtown.
From creating a safe, clean and welcoming downtown to supporting local businesses, strengthening economic resilience, improving parking and planning, and investing in the public spaces that bring our community together, the decisions made at the municipal level have a real impact on our downtown and our entire community. A thriving downtown is essential to a thriving Squamish. Make your vote count!

The Walk n Roll returns to downtown Squamish on Saturday, September 19, celebrating accessibility, inclusion, and community.

Hosted by the District of Squamish, Downtown Squamish, Tourism Squamish, Squamish Arts, Squamish Rotary Club, and Squamish Public Library, the second annual Walk n Roll invites everyone to explore downtown using a passport style experience.

Pick up a passport at Stan Clarke Park, visit participating businesses and organizations, learn about accessibility, and collect stamps for prize entries.

The celebration wraps up at Stan Clarke Park at 2:30 PM with music and cake.

This year’s event honours the memory of D’Arcy McCrea, whose work and advocacy helped shape accessibility in Squamish and created the original Walk n Roll.

Join us for the 2026 Municipal All Candidates Meeting, an opportunity to hear directly from the people seeking to shape the future of our community.

With 3 mayoral candidates and 16 council candidates, this is your chance to get informed ahead of election day, and to understand what’s ahead for our local businesses, downtown, and economic future.

Hosted by Downtown Squamish, Squamish Chamber of Commerce, and Tourism Squamish, in partnership with the Squamish Chief, this public event brings together candidates and community for an important conversation.

Where: Brennan Park Recreation Centre
When: Monday, October 5, 2026
Time: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Come learn about the candidates’ priorities, ask questions, and gain insight into the issues shaping Squamish, from business vitality and downtown vibrancy to the broader future of our community.

Free to attend, however registration is required (limited capacity). All are welcome!
