August 24, 2011- November 28, 2025

Our family had to say goodbye to our brave, smart, loyal, playful and larger than life Yorkie Karma. He was a fierce protector for our other dog, Sutra. Best friends with our 7 year old daughter. And such a loyal companion, he would follow me wherever I went in our home just to be close to me.

He was once obsessed with his squeaky toys, would shred any stuffed animal like he was a Rottweiler, hug the back of your leg, toy in mouth, as you try to walk by. He was so obedient and wouldn't hesitate to please us. When he wanted on the bed he would paw the bed side to get permission to jump up. There are endless memories created with him in our lives.

Over the past couple years he started to loose his eye sight and this last year his health deteriorated before our eyes. We knew it was coming but nothing can truely prepare you for the day they leave their body.

This has been a very difficult goodbye for our family. He will be missed dearly.

Rest in love sweet boy. 💔 🕊️

From the busy streets of India to the breathtaking mountains of Squamish, BC – this is what transformation looks like when a street dog is given a real chance. 🐾💛

Yesterday was National Dog Day, a perfect reminder of why we rescue, adopt, and give these incredible dogs the lives they deserve.

Ernie was once struggling to survive with no safe place to call home. Today, he runs free on forest trails, breathes in fresh mountain air, and knows nothing but love, safety, and belonging.

✨ This is what it looks like when dogs are rescued and adopted.

They don’t just survive – they thrive.

Here in Squamish, Ernie is more than a rescue – he’s family, adventure buddy, and a daily reminder of why we do this work. 🌲🏔️🐶

✨ Breaking Update — August 22, 2025 ✨

Today, the Supreme Court of India reversed its August 11 ruling that had ordered the mass removal of street dogs from Delhi-NCR streets. In a powerful and compassionate shift, the Court now directs that all sterilized and vaccinated dogs must be returned to their original neighborhoods—their homes.

A Bench led by Justice Vikram Nath has also consolidated all related cases, creating the foundation for a unified, humane national policy on street dog management. This policy prioritizes dedicated feeding zones, sterilization, vaccination, and care while balancing public safety with animal welfare.

This is more than a legal decision—it’s a victory for compassion, community, and the voiceless. Thanks to countless voices speaking up, the dogs of Delhi have been given back not just their rights, but their place in the world.

Let us continue to stand united—for kindness, for safety, for the lives that cannot speak for themselves.

🇨🇦 Update on SC Ruling 🇮🇳🐾

Tomorrow, August 22, 2025, the Supreme Court of India will deliver its final ruling on the August 11th Delhi street dog order. This decision will determine the fate of thousands of community dogs across Delhi-NCR.

As a Canadian non-profit standing in solidarity with India’s dogs and the people who love and care for them, we are watching closely and sending our full support. These dogs are not just “strays” — they are community members, companions, and lives that matter.
