ARTIST HIGHLIGHT: BLUESBERRY JAM SHOWBAND

Get ready to dance!

Squamish’s beloved Bluesberry Jam Showband is bringing their high-energy blend of blues, rock and R&B covers to Junction Park on July 25th as part of the Squamish Arts Festival!

With a full horn section, top-notch rhythm players and three dynamic lead singers, Bluesberry Jam delivers the kind of “must get up and dance” energy that keeps audiences moving all night long. Founded in the early '90s, the band has built an impressive local following and a loyal fanbase that regularly turns out for sold-out shows.

Come experience the musical camaraderie, infectious energy and local talent that have made Bluesberry Jam a Squamish favourite for decades!

From blank panels to a bold, large-scale mural!

Our Mural Camp with Alex Fowkes brought young artists together to learn how to design, paint, and create a collaborative mural across multiple panels which are now set to be installed at Brennan Park!

We’re so impressed by what these young artists created and can’t wait to see their work out in the community.

🎨 Spray Paint Art Camp with Jessa Gilbert
📅 August 11–14

Learn how to use spray paint to create art, exploring stencil creation, patterning, and colourful techniques. Participants will work together to create a group mural from concept to creation and are also encouraged to bring items they may be interested in painting throughout the week.

Youth Art Camps Are Back This Summer!

Looking for a creative way to keep your young artist inspired this summer? Squamish Arts is offering two exciting 4-day art camps designed to help youth explore large-scale creativity, self-expression, and hands-on artistic techniques with professional local artists.

🖌️ Mural Camp with Alex Fowkes
July 7–10
Youth will work alongside graphic designer and mural artist Alex Fowkes to learn the fundamentals of mural design, collaborative art-making, and visual storytelling while creating artwork together in a fun and supportive environment.

🎨 Spray Paint Art Camp with Jessa Gilbert
August 11–14
This dynamic camp introduces youth to spray paint art and mural techniques with artist Jessa Gilbert. Participants will experiment with colour, layering, stencils, and street-art inspired approaches while building confidence and creativity.

Both camps are designed for youth ages 13–17 and no prior experience is necessary. Spaces are limited!

Calling all Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw artists 🎨✨

The deadline has been extended for the Carbon Engineering Public Art Opportunity!

Carbon Engineering is inviting Indigenous artists from Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) to create a digital artwork design for display along the public walkway near their Innovation Centre in the Squamish Oceanfront area.

Artists are encouraged to submit vibrant digital artwork that reflects the beauty, energy, biodiversity, and cultural connection to the surrounding environment and territory.

Create a digital artwork for installation along the public walkway at the Squamish Oceanfront Innovation Centre.

Submit a proposal for a permanent interior installation honouring Squamish history, language, culture, and connection to the land through the library’s commitment to reconciliation.
