A major highlight of the 2026 CCMS 🧗

One of our favourite additions to this year’s symposium was a group climb!

It was so much more than just climbing. As organizers, it gave us the chance to get to know everyone beyond the lecture hall, meeting partners and friends. And, fostering the incredible community that makes CCMS so special.

It was a joy to jump on some of Squamish’s classic routes and boulders and watch everyone encourage each other, swap beta and simply have fun.

The response was overwhelmingly positive and we’re already looking forward to making the group climb a CCMS tradition when we return in 2029.

Thank you to everyone who joined us - we can’t wait to do it again ❤️

And just like that… another incredible Canadian Climbing Medicine Symposium comes to a close ❤️

We wrapped up three inspiring days of learning with outstanding presentations on performance, training, psychology and the future of climbing medicine. More importantly, we wrapped up surrounded by an incredible community of clinicians, coaches, researchers and climbers who all share the same passion for advancing our sport.

To everyone who attended, thank you 🙏🏻 For your curiosity, your thoughtful questions, your willingness to share ideas and for making CCMS such a collaborative environment.

Another heartfelt thank you as well to our speakers, sponsors, volunteers and planning committee. This symposium wouldn’t be possible without your generosity, expertise and countless hours behind the scenes.

We’re already looking forward to what’s next! Until the next time… climb safe, keep learning and we’ll see you again in 2029! 🧗

Day 2 ✅

Another incredible day yesterday at the Canadian Climbing Medicine Symposium 2026!

We explored everything from Achilles tendon rehabilitation, shoulder and wrist injuries, athlete lab testing, the athlete microbiome and supplements like creatine - bringing together clinicians, coaches, researchers and climbers to share knowledge and challenge the way we care for climbing athletes.

One of the best parts of CCMS is that the learning doesn’t stop when the lectures end. We wrapped up the day with an evening group bouldering session, where attendees had the chance to climb together, exchange ideas on the pads and experience firsthand what makes Squamish such a special place.

A huge thank you to our speakers, sponsors, volunteers and everyone who continues to make this community so welcoming.

One more day to go! 💪🧗

What a way to kick off the 2026 Canadian Climbing Medicine Symposium. 🧗‍♂️

Yesterday, we brought together an incredible group of clinicians, coaches, researchers and climbers united by a shared goal: advancing the way we understand, support and care for the climbing community.

After opening remarks from Yasser, we dove into a full day of learning with outstanding presentations from leaders in the field, including Dr. Jared Vagy, Dr. Carrie Cooper and Dr. Kevin Cowell.

From evidence-based rehabilitation to performance and injury management, Day 1 was filled with thoughtful discussions, practical takeaways and meaningful connections.

We wrapped up the day by stepping out of the symposium venue and onto the rock for a group rope climb - a perfect reminder of the community that brings us all together.

Thank you to our speakers, attendees, volunteers and supporters. This symposium exists because of the passion and dedication of this community and we’re so grateful to share it with you ❤️
