Daredevil is one of those stories of successful progress. He was very shut down and afraid when he came to the shelter from conditions that were not great.
He was just not making much progress in the center as far as trusting the staff and volunteers and would hiss and growl. He had come in with other cats but even being around them didn't seem to bring him out of hiding.
We put Daredevil into one of our amazing foster homes and although it was slow going at first, he has made amazing progress.
He has become quite chatty now that he is brave enough to start expressing himself, and will follow the foster around to seek affection, pressing his head into her hand. He has even begun relaxing and sleeping in bed, and enjoying cuddle sessions.
Daredevil would love having another animal friend in the home, like a friendly cat, or he has even shown interest in dogs. Now that he has started overcoming his fears, his desire for friendship is coming through. He may always be a skittish kitty, but in a quiet, patient home he will blossom.
