Calling all organizations, service providers and businesses that support young children and families! 📣

The second annual One Valley Children’s Health Fair is coming to Pemberton on Saturday, October 24 — and we’re looking for community partners to join us!

The free community event brings families with children ages 0–5 together with local services, resources and supports focused on children’s health, development and well-being.

If your work supports families through physical or mental health, early learning, recreation, developmental or family services, cultural programming, community connection or another area of children’s well-being, we’d love to have you participate.

Host a booth, share your resources and get creative with a simple activity, demonstration, game or hands-on experience for children.

Participation is free for non-profit organizations and $100 for private businesses.

Please share with an organization, business or service provider that would be a great addition to this year’s fair!

Thank you to the graduating class of Pemberton Secondary School for their generous $1,550 donation to Foundry Sea to Sky — Pemberton. 💚

There’s something especially meaningful about youth choosing to support other youth in their community.

Foundry programming began this past year at Pemberton Secondary School, and this generous gift from the 2026 graduating class will help us continue creating opportunities for young people in Pemberton to find support, build connections and know they have somewhere to turn.

With Foundry Sea to Sky — Pemberton opening this fall at Harrow Road, this donation will help bring free, non-judgemental support closer to home and create a welcoming space where local youth can connect, build friendships and find community.

Thank you, PSS grads, for investing in the young people coming up behind you.

If you're a parent carrying loss, the Sea to Sky Hospice Society is offering a support program this fall.

This September, the Sea to Sky Hospice Society is offering a Grieving Parents Support Group, a free four-week support program for parents navigating the loss of fertility, pregnancies, infants, or children, including planned terminations.

Through guided conversations, guest speakers, and meaningful connections, you will be supported in your grief, reducing isolation and finding ways to carry your loss and honour your unique journey.

Each evening will offer a different opportunity for conversation, reflection, and connection:

September 10 | Kaz Hiroe
The Script
Kaz Hiroe shares tools and experiences about putting words together when introducing your loss to new people.

September 17 | Grace Crosby
In One Art Exploration
In an art exploration session, Grace Crosby will introduce how you can express your loss using a variety of art-based techniques and prompts.

September 24 | Megan Sheldon
“Silent Thresholds”
Megan Sheldon offers meaningful ways to acknowledge the invisible moments that often surround our grief journeys.

October 1 | Ashling Amato
Ashling Amato leads a philosophical conversation about parental grief, while participants eat cake and prepare crafted sweets for the plates of absent children.

All of our presenters have lived experience as grieving parents.

đź“… Thursday evenings | September 10, 17, 24 & October 1
🕕 6:00–7:45 p.m.
📍 55+ Centre Art Room | 1201 Village Green Way, Squamish

We were saddened to learn of Dolly Parton’s passing.

While we didn’t know her personally, we have seen firsthand how something Dolly started from a place of love grew into something much bigger — enriching the lives of children and families throughout the Sea to Sky.

Her Imagination Library began as an act of love for her dad, who never had the opportunity to learn to read or write. Dolly wanted to honour him by helping other children have opportunities he hadn’t had.

Through S.P.A.R.K., that love reaches 600 local children and families every month, bringing books, joy, imagination and learning into homes throughout our community.

Dolly’s family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour her memory make a donation to the Imagination Library. We can think of no more fitting way to remember the woman affectionately known as “The Book Lady.”

A gift to the Imagination Library through SSCS will help carry Dolly’s legacy forward, one book — and one child — at a time. ❤️
