What a day! ✨

On Saturday, July 25, Junction Park came alive for the Squamish Arts Festival, bringing our community together for a day filled with art, culture, creativity, and connection.

As part of The Big Weekend, alongside Open Street Day and Mural Walk, Downtown Squamish was buzzing with live performances, dance workshops, an artisan market, food trucks, and family-friendly activities.

And while the weather may not have been on our side 🌧️, a little rain couldn’t dampen Squamish’s spirit! Thank you to everyone who threw on a rain jacket, grabbed an umbrella, and came out to celebrate with us. 💛

A huge thank you to all of the artists, performers, vendors, volunteers, partners, and community members who helped make the day so special.

We loved celebrating with you, Squamish, and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!

At the heart of the Sp'akw'us Feather Shakedown is community, culture, and connection.

Welhtima Kexwusem, meaning “Culture bringing people together,” is a Squamish Nation singing and dancing group dedicated to revitalizing and sharing the language, traditions, and culture of the Skwxwú7mesh Uxwumixw.

Formed in 2004, the group’s powerful performances are rooted in the land, water, and animal kingdom, offering audiences a glimpse into the vibrant and living culture of the Squamish Nation. Through drumming, singing, and dancing, Welhtima Kexwusem shares the heartbeat of the Nation and the spirit of community.

We are honoured to welcome Welhtima Kexwusem to the Sp'akw'us Feather Shakedown at Oceanfront Squamish on Saturday, August 8 at 6:55 PM.
