FortisBC has provided an operational update regarding hydrostatic testing on the upgraded section of the existing pipeline in the Valleycliffe area, which began as early as October 10. The work is expected to take roughly two weeks, with some equipment running 24 hours a day. For public safety, the pipeline route and surrounding trails are temporarily closed, and trail users are asked to follow all posted signage and stay clear of restricted zones. In addition, expect intermittent lane closures and detours along Powerhouse Springs Road near the Mamquam River Forest Service Road intersection, where traffic control will be directing traffic. Further testing will be required on the new pipeline later this year, with more details to come.

Thank you for your patience and for respecting these temporary trail closures; we appreciate the community's cooperation so crews can complete these activities safely.

A HUGE thank you to the Epic Promise Foundation for supporting our trail community.

For every shift a S***A member volunteered at the UCI Downhill World Cup in Whistler this past September, EpicPromise Foundation contributed a donation, which resulted in $9,000 for the trails!

Thank you to every member who showed up and put in the hours on the hill. Thanks to your time and the generous support from EpicPromise, these funds go right back into maintaining and caring for the trails!

Our next Dig Day is coming up on Sunday, October 18th! Supported by Workwear and , you and your four-legged friends are invited to join for a morning of trail work! We'll be working on "Brodown", with lots of treats for the humans AND the dogs. Come lend a hand (and a paw), whether you have years of trail work experience or it's your first dig; all ability levels are welcome, and our crew will have guidance and tools ready for everyone.

If you have ridden Section 57 recently, you might have noticed a very welcome update!

After being out of commission for a while, the bridge on Section 57 has been fully replaced thanks to Jim Harvey and the Hounds. Building a solid crossing from scratch is tough, physical work, and this crew tackled it head-on.

Thank you to this team for your time, energy, and care for this trail network! Next time you ride across it, be sure to send them your appreciation and thanks!

Thank you ISL for supporting Saturday's dig day on "Dead End Loop"! The weather was perfect for getting some great progress done on this trail that was in need of some TLC. Thank you to everyone who joined for the day and for all your hard work 🪏💪

Our next dig day is Sunday, October 18th! We hope to see you there! 🐾

Heads up for everyone heading out for a pedal this weekend; the e-bike festival is taking place in Squamish from Friday through Sunday, so expect to see some higher traffic across the trail network.

The weekend lineup includes an XC race on Saturday and an Enduro on Sunday, along with group rides and on-trail events. Trails will be a bit busier than usual, so remember to share the trails, keep an eye out for each other, and cheer on the folks riding and racing if you cross paths with them while out there this weekend!
