ALGEHR exists to:
Promote the exchange of ideas relating to:
the selection, arrangement and composition of handbell music;
the techniques of handbell ringing;
the programming, appearance, and performance. Disseminate handbell information, society news and business by means of a newsletter (The PEAL) and/or other such publications as may be de
emed advisable. Sponsor workshops, Read and Ring Sessions, clinics, festivals and concerts devoid of competition in all forms. Attempt through workshops to
cultivate and foster the art of handbell ringing in Alberta;
Encourage formation of new choirs for people of all ages;
contribute to community cultural activities;
extend music education in schools and in the community. To support the national handbell organization (Handbell Guilds of Canada).
