Today is World Elder Abuse Day.
Our Elders are the heart of our families and communities. They carry knowledge, stories, language and traditions that connect us to our surroundings and to who we are.
Today, we join people across Ontario and around the world in raising awareness about elder abuse and the importance of treating older adults with dignity, respect and care.
Elder abuse can happen to anyone. By learning the signs, checking in on loved ones and speaking up when something doesn't seem right, we can all help create safer, healthier communities for our Elders.
Let's honour and protect the people who have guided and cared for us throughout our lives.
