We are an off-grid education and retreat centre situated on 200 acres of woodlands in the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve.

We offer workshops in the arts on sustainability, as well as facilities for weddings, meetings, and retreats.

🌿 Come see the land restoration work we’ve been part of with Tsi Tyónnheht Onkwawén:na!

We’ve been sharing updates from the land over the past little while, and their upcoming Open House is a great opportunity to come see the site in person and learn more about everything happening there.

Join us on October 18th to explore the centre and surrounding land, learn more about the activities underway, and get a closer look at the restoration work.

🍂 We had SO much fun this past Saturday at The Poetics of Making Pollen Grains & Seeds workshop!

Surrounded by the colours of early October, we spent the day learning, laughing, enjoying delicious food, and trying creative techniques that were new to many of us.

Inspired by the intricate forms of pollen grains and seeds, we bent and wove wire into sculptural pieces, experimenting with shape, texture, and movement. There was plenty of focused making, conversation around the tables, and even some fireside weaving along the way.

A huge thank you to our incredible instructor, Charmaine Lurch, for guiding us through the day with such warmth, curiosity, and generosity. Thank you for inviting us to look more closely at the extraordinary structures hidden within the natural world and to explore them together through art.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and brought such wonderful energy to the day. 💚

🎨 Our Pique Assiette Mosaics: Creative Retreat is just 10 days away, and we still have a few spots available!

Join us at Wintergreen Studios from October 8–11 for a creative, hands-on weekend exploring the art of mosaic making with artist and educator Meg Leslie of Atherley Arts.

Over four days, you’ll learn how to work with broken dishes, ceramic tiles, found objects, and other materials to design and create your own one-of-a-kind mosaic piece. Bring along any special broken ceramics, jewelry, buttons, or other treasures you’d like to incorporate, or choose from the materials provided.

No previous mosaic experience is needed. Alongside plenty of studio time, there will be good food, time to explore the trails and labyrinth, and opportunities to connect with fellow participants in the beautiful surroundings of Wintergreen.

📣🌸 There’s still space available in our upcoming workshop, The Poetics of Making Pollen Grains and Seeds!

Join artist Charmaine Lurch for a day exploring the intersections of art, ecology, and science through slow, hands-on creative practice.

Inspired by the microscopic forms of pollen grains and seeds, participants will learn simple wire-bending and weaving techniques while contributing to a collaborative artwork. You’ll also create a small sculptural piece to take home.

Drop in, explore the land, chat with our team, and learn more about what makes Wintergreen unique. Take a self-guided hike, explore our straw bale and cordwood buildings, see how we use solar power and reclaimed materials, and learn about our living roofs, workshops, courses, and retreats.

🌀 Autumn Equinox Labyrinth Walk | 12:00–2:00 PM
Mark the changing of the seasons with a guided walk through Wintergreen’s stone labyrinth. The autumn equinox is a time of balance and transition. A chance to pause, reflect, and notice the changes happening around us. This event includes a light lunch.

Come for one, or make a day of it and experience a little more of Wintergreen.

Join artist Meg Leslie of Atherley Arts for a Pique Assiette Mosaics: Creative Retreat, where you’ll work with broken dishes, ceramics, found objects, and other materials to create a mosaic piece that’s completely your own. You will go home with a tabletop or wooden canvas. (You choose when registering.)
