With the help of our donors, the Eastern Kings Health Foundation has been able to support & improve health care in the communities of eastern PEI.

The Eastern Kings Health Foundation Inc. is a registered charitable organization that raises funds to support medical equipment and resources for health services in the Eastern Kings area of Prince Edward Island. The Foundation is unique in that it not only provides support to Souris Hospital, but also supports Colville Manor, Mental Health and Addictions , Home Care and Public Health. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, the Foundation is committed to fundraising, collecting and directing dollars to improve and maintain the health of the citizens in eastern PEI. The provincial government provides only a small amount of the funding for the medical equipment that makes it possible to have excellent health care in Eastern PEI. Donors just like you can help bridge the gap by supporting the purchase of an item from the equipment wish list. Your donation today will help our hospital, long-term care facility and health services in Eastern Kings purchase equipment and materials that will make a critical difference in the life of every patient, client and resident receiving care. The Foundation was pleased to elect Lori Jones as President this summer! We were also sad to see the departure of several board members who completed their terms.

A big thank you to outgoing President Bonnie MacDonald, and Directors Marise Chapman, Judy Hennessy, and Kathleen Townshend (not pictured) for all your hard work and dedication!

We’re going to miss having them around the table but are fortunate to have new directors (who we’ll soon be introducing) as we get down to work for another productive year.

Eastern Kings Health Foundation board member Kim Leblanc accepts $3,434 from the Smile Cookie Campaign from Souris Tim Hortons Manager, Renee Martin.

The Board would like to thank D.P. Murphy Inc. for choosing EKHF - Souris Hospital and hospitals across PEI to be beneficiaries of the 2026 Spring Smile Cookie Campaign.

We would also like to thank our Eastern Kings community for their support by purchasing cookies.

Through generous support such as Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie campaign, the EKHF continues to purchase equipment and resources to Souris Hospital, Colville Manor, Public Health, Home Care, Mental Health and Addictions so they can provide excellent care when you, your family and friends need it.

Please be sure to buy a Smile Cookie (or several) at Tim Horton’s today! Proceeds from each one sold will go toward the Souris Hospital (Eastern King’s Health Foundation) and support equipment and resources for health services in our region.

It was a pleasure speaking with our community's own Alyson MacCormack, a first year medical student at UPEI, during her placement in Souris last week! Great to see such a bright young person like Alyson able to study medicine on the Island and hopefully one day practice here too. Keep up the good work, Alyson!
