We were so excited to kick off our 2026 Community Meals —
unfortunately, Mother Nature doesn’t seem to be as supportive as we’d hoped.
With the predicted weather overnight and into tomorrow, along with the potential cleanup that may be required, we’ve made the difficult decision to reschedule.
This is never an easy call — and certainly not the one we want to make — but the safety of our volunteers and guests has to come first.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience and truly appreciate your understanding. We hope to see everyone out next time!
A new date will be announced soon.

Community Meal #15 – A taste of the Philippines, a Night We’ll Never Forget

Last night’s community meal was an incredible success — we served over 300 people, officially placing it in our Top 3 largest meals ever (right up there with Lobster Penne & our Turkey Dinner)

What made this milestone even more exceptional is that it was our very first meal completely planned, shopped for, cooked, and executed by our amazing Tipsy “Friends.” From start to finish, they poured their hearts into it, and it showed.

The meal was proudly and expertly hosted by Heidy Echallar, Emma De los Santos, and Elaiza from the Tipsy Farmers team, along with so many of their friends and family. There were so many helping hands that we won’t even try to list them for fear of missing someone — but please know: we saw you, we appreciate you, and we are so grateful for you.

They treated everyone to traditional Filipino food, and it was absolutely delicious. 🇵🇭❤️
(PS - Heidy, Emma & Elaiza were already talking of more Filipino food they could continue to introduce to the community and we look very much forward to that too)

The entertainment throughout the evening was nothing short of spectacular — dancing, singing, baton twirling — all performed by talented members of the local Filipino community. They brought the house down and filled the room with joy, pride, and so much energy.

On a very special note, many of these performers are part of an upcoming benefit show for their dear friend Aly, an RCW at Colville Manor who is currently home in the Philippines supporting her mother in her fight against Stage 4 cancer.
Their show on November 23rd, 2–5pm at the Souris Show Hall, will help raise funds for Aly’s mom’s treatments and allow Aly to remain by her side.
Last night, our donation box was dedicated to Aly, her mom, and their family. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who came out, we raised an incredible $1,000 for them.

To every person who cooked, served, performed, cleaned, organized, or simply came out to share a meal together — thank you. You made Community Meal #15 one for the books.

🌟🇵🇭 A Taste of the Philippines — Food, Culture, and Community! 🇵🇭🌟

This week’s Tipsy Farmers & Friends Community Dinner is shaping up to be extra special! 💛

Not only will our incredible Filipino team be sharing their authentic homemade cuisine — featuring favourites like Bihon, P**o, Spring Rolls, Maja Blanca, and Sago’t Gulaman Pink — but we’ll also be treated to some local entertainment that will make the evening even brighter! 🎶✨

🌸🇵🇭 A Taste of the Philippines is almost here! 🇵🇭🌸

Our amazing Filipino team at Tipsy Farmers has poured their hearts, heritage, and hometown flavours into this next Free Community Dinner — and we can’t wait for you to try it!

They’ve crafted a delicious menu straight from the Philippines, filled with love, colour, and tradition:

🍜 Bihon – A tasty stir-fried noodle dish packed with savoury goodness.
🧀 P**o – Soft, steamed cheese buns that melt in your mouth.
🥢 Spring Rolls – Crispy golden bites filled with flavour!

And for dessert… 🍮 Maja Blanca, a creamy coconut and corn pudding that’s pure comfort.

Wash it all down with the beautiful and refreshing 💕 Sago’t Gulaman Pink – a fun Filipino drink made with jello, bubble pearls, and sweet pink milk!

Tonight was a little bit smaller crowd than we are used to (but still about 175 people; some of who enjoyed seconds or thirds even) 💕
We also sent 2 trays of warm blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream tubs, down to the Silver Thread Club for their Wednesday night Ceilidh AND donated severalbottles of pop to the “Zombie Night” pizza party 😋

We were VERY excited to have “Bunny” back- she, along with some SRS staff & Grade 10 CEO students and a sprinkle of our OG Volunteers, were the rockstars that helped to help us pull off meal #15! 🥰

What an amazing day for a turkey dinner, perfectly cooked by Tipsy Farmers (The Underhay family)! We were thrilled to welcome over 320 guests — our second-largest turnout ever! For the first time, we even ran out of a food item, but that didn’t stop everyone from enjoying a great meal.

A special shoutout to Freda Smit-Mckie and her small but mighty Pathfinder team — Isla, Addison, and Lucy — for volunteering your time and energy. You were fantastic!

Huge thanks to PEI Brewing Company and Murphy Hospitality Group for sponsoring this month’s meal — and to Kyle for reaching out to learn more about what we do after last summer’s evening at Red Point.

Thank you to the Souris Show Hall for your generous donation of movie tickets — your support truly made some smiles even bigger! Be sure to follow their page to stay up-to-date on all their upcoming movies and live music events. You won’t want to miss it!
