We provide programs and services to women and children fleeing violence and abuse.

We care compassionately for the emotional needs of women and children who have experienced, witnessed, or are at risk of abuse, threats, or violence. Our programs encompass counseling, education, prevention, and advocacy, assisting others to live free from the effects of abuse and violence in all relationships. Sooke Transition House Society has advocated for healthy, non-violent community since 1994. We continue to engage others in our community knowing that our efforts are collective, not singular. We value equality and strive to empower women and children of all races, religions, spirituality, sexual orientation, physical and mental capacity. � (250) 642-2591

September 30th is International Truth and Reconciliation Day, or Orange Shirt day.

Today, we remember and honour the survivors and the victims of the residential school system, and the abuse and traumas they experienced that will continue to affect future generations.

🧡 As a community sponsor, STHS is proud to support Sooke’s Orange Shirt Day gathering on September 30.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is an opportunity to honour Survivors, remember the children who never returned home from residential schools, and acknowledge the ongoing impacts of colonization on Indigenous peoples and communities.

Reconciliation is an ongoing commitment that begins with listening, learning and taking meaningful action.

We invite community members to attend this important gathering and join the community in reflection, learning and healing.

The healing walk starts at the lot across the street from the Sooke Region Museum. Community gathering follows at EMCS.
