🍂🌽 Our Annual Fall Chilli, Soup & Corn Roast is Back! 🌽🍂

We are happy to report that our wonderful volunteers have confirmed the plans, and preparations are officially underway for our Annual Chilli, Soup & Corn Roast at the Silverdale Community Centre!

📅 Friday, September 18th
⏰ 5:00–6:30 PM
📍 Silverdale Community Centre

Please mark your calendars and join us for an evening of delicious chilli, homemade soup, roasted corn, dessert and drinks, while catching up with friends and neighbours in our community.
*All by donation*

This annual event is also an important fundraiser for the Silverdale Community Centre. As a self-sustaining Community Centre, the funds we raise through events like this help us cover the ongoing costs of keeping our doors open and our building available for the community.

With fall quickly approaching, so does the colder weather — and the past few years have brought significant increases in the cost of heating and maintaining our historic community building. Every donation and every person who comes out to support us makes a significant difference.

We are incredibly grateful to the volunteers who make these events possible and to our community for continuing to show up and support this special little piece of Silverdale. ❤️

Help provide feedback regarding our local community centres. The Township of West Lincoln has been excellent at supporting us throughout the years. Providing feedback increases the likelihood that our hall can continue to provide space for the community.

A huge thank you to everyone that came out to support our Silverdale Community Centre BBQ. It was a fantastic event, and everyone had a great time enjoying the food, and opportunity to connect with one another.

We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and continued support of our community. Events like these bring people together and create lasting memories for families and friends alike.

A very special thank you to the Township of West Lincoln for sending the crew to refresh our playground just in time for the summer festivities and the BBQ this Friday.

Countdown is on... weather looks like we may get just enough time to finish the event and then the rain is moving in. Keeping our fingers and toes crossed.

We would like to thank the family from the Terra Wood Farm located here in St. Ann's for their extremely generous donation of kid items for the raffle table for Friday.

Another thank you to Mac Laurin Trucking for their donation of hanging baskets again this year. They are beautiful.

We are so grateful as more donations have been arriving and getting prepared for Friday night. Its coming so fast!

🔹🔷If you've been considering getting involved in our Community Events and wish to see what our hall volunteers do to get prepared or wish to participate in the evening- we will be hosting a meeting on Tuesday May 5th at 7pm in the hall. This is great for the students needing volunteer hours or to help them get involved with their community. 🔷🔹

On this Good Friday, we pause to remember the depth of God’s love shown through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. ✝️

In the Silverdale Community area - many share a deep faith, and today holds special meaning as we reflect together in reverence and gratitude.

“But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities… and by His wounds we are healed.” – Isaiah 53:5

May we find peace in His grace, strength in His love, and comfort in coming together; whether in prayer, reflection, or quiet support of one another.
