We had such a great time at our second ever Reuse-a-palooza! Thanks so much to all our incredible volunteers who dedicated their morning to helping us repair, upcycle, and swap the things we already own. We love this community and are so happy to see the demand for these types of events. We hope to do more of this in the future, so please hold onto your broken items and we look forward to more fixing and reusing! ♻️

Friendly reminder of the amazing “swaps” we will have as part of Saturday’s Reuse-a-palooza festivities! What if the best new thing is something someone else already owns? ♻️
Swapping keeps good stuff in use, saves money, reduces waste, and connects us with our community. This Saturday at Reuse-a-palooza from 9am-1pm at Ranger Park, we will have a clothing swap, tool swap, and homeschool curriculum swap (newly added, supported by EdGE Learning Centre) !
Bring what you no longer need, find something useful to you, and give the things you already own a chance at a second life. 💚
Share. Swap. Reuse. Repeat.

A big thank you to Wetzin'kwa Community Forest for providing the Bulkley Valley Tool Library with more than $900 to host a series of Repair Cafés and Tool Tinkering sessions this year!

This funding will help make it easier for people to learn repair skills and fix broken or well-loved items, giving them a second life instead of sending them to the landfill. Repair Cafés are a great way to foster connection and support a culture of reuse. It will also fund our tool tinkering sessions where volunteers fix tools that have been donated and need some love before they're entered into our inventory.

We’re excited to kick off the series with the first Repair Café at Reuse-a-palooza on Saturday, August 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.! See you there!

It’sssssss baccckkkkk! 🎉♻️ Reuse-a-palooza 2.0 is just over a week away!

What is Reuse-a-palooza? It’s a celebration of all things recycled, reused, reduced and repaired! 🙌

📅 August 29, 2026
⏰ 9 AM–1 PM
📍 Ranger Park Building

Here’s what’s happening this year:

🔧 Repair Café
Bring your broken items and work with a volunteer to fix them! We’ll have community members with skills in woodworking, small appliance repair, bicycles and visible mending. A big thanks to the Men’s Shed for volunteering at our the Repair Café alongside other skilled community members.

🥕 Don’t let an abundant summer harvest go to waste
Got more cabbage, apples, and beets than you know what to do with? Bring some garden bounty and get started turning it into something delicious! Stop by Groundbreakers’ produce processing station to try out the tool library’s juicer, large batch veggie slicers, or learn the ins and outs of using a fermenting crock. Bring your questions, your produce, take home containers, and your ideas—and get inspired to preserve the harvest

👞 Birkenstock Re-corking & Leather Care
Join Matt from Webb Boot Company and get your Birks re-corked or bring leather footwear and learn how to condition and polish it. Have you been meaning to get something repaired? Matt also does repairs and is willing to take orders during Reuse-a-palooza (to bring back to his shop to work on).

👕 Linocutting Station | 9–11 AM only
Bring an old T-shirt or other piece of clothing and upcycle it with a fun, one-of-a-kind stamp! Stay tuned for a peek at this year’s design coming soon. 👀

👚 Clothing Swap | 9 AM-12 PM only
Bring clothes to donate at 9 AM and set them up on a table or rack, then do a loop and take what you want! Please don’t bring clothing you intend to sell—donations only. 😊

🔨 Tool Swap
Have tools you no longer need? Bring them along and see if you can find something you could use!

Come swap, fix, learn, tinker and give your stuff a second life. See you at Reuse-a-palooza! ♻️
