Many residents are unaware that the Slave Lake Kinettes are the source of the flower baskets on main street. It is a project we have proudly performed for over 30 years, purchasing our flowers from various local businesses through the years. Originally we would stand on ladders on the placed on trailers & hang them up on a Sunday afternoon. Obviously safety has improved over the years, so now we use longer ladders lol. Lately Atco has supported us with a crew of 2 & a truck to reach the higher ones that we can't, and many various individuals have come out to help.

This project requires many volunteers, but also funding. The town gives us a grant annually, but it is not enough to cover the cost of the flowers & upkeep on the baskets, chains, etc.
