This weekend our 15U team travelled to London for OBAs and came home as Champions!

Starting the tournament on Friday morning, the Giants fell to Stayner, 5-3, despite out-hitting the White Sox. Our Giants were able to rally back for the second game of the day, winning 11-2 over LaSalle.

Playing in their only game of the day on Saturday, our Giants came out strong, winning the game 18-2 over Kingston.

On Sunday, our Giants kept the momentum going and the bats swinging, winning 17-1 over Ancaster. In the second game of the day, our Giants faced the undefeated Sarnia team and batted it out in a showdown, coming out on top with a 7-6 win.

At this point, our 15U team was given a bit of a breather as they took the bye and waited to find out who they’d battle next.

In the Finals, our Giants faced Kitchener and kept the game tight for the first two innings before opening up the score in a big way, bringing in seven runs in the third inning. From there, our Giants continued to put up the runs, ending the game with a 14-3 win at the end of five innings.

Congrats on becoming OBA Champs, 15U.

This weekend our 12U team travelled to Leamington for OBAs and came home as Champions!

Starting out on Friday morning, the team faced Lucan-Ilderton, a team they’ve beat twice in a tournament throughout the season. Unfortunately, the team couldn’t pull out the same fate, and suffered a 13-4 loss. Our Giants were able to rally for the second game of the day where they pulled off a 15-9 win over Wyoming.

On Saturday the team came out swinging, winning 12-1 over Midland Penetang before defeating Stratford 5-3.

On Sunday the team was up against Welland, winning the game 12-1.

At that point, a draw was needed to see who would need to face Lucan-Ilderton and who would get the bye to the Finals, and our Giants had luck on their side.

In the Finals, our Giants faced Welland, again, and although they got on the board first, the Junior Jackfish pulled ahead as they brought in two runs in the second. Thankfully, our Giants dug deep and went to work, winning 11-5.

Congrats on becoming OBA Champs, 12U.

This weekend, using the diamonds at Memorial Park and Misner, (in Port Dover), our Seniors hosted the OBA Championships and finished the weekend as Champs!

Starting the tournament Friday afternoon, the Seniors took on the Port Lambton Pirates, coming out on top with a 9-4 win, before a decisive 11-1 win over the Leamington Barons in the evening.

On Saturday the team faced a local opponent, the Port Dover Sailors, and won the game 6-2. The team kept the momentum going into Saturday night as they won 8-0 over Lisle Astros.

Moving onto Sunday, the team first faced the Woodstock Wranglers, defeating them 5-1. Maintain the momentum and the score, our Giants repeated the 5-1 win in the Finals, this time defeating the Mitchell Astros.

Congratulations on going undefeated and becoming OBA Champs, Seniors!

It may have taken an extra day, but after a weeklong delay, the 18U T1 team (sponsored by Simcoe Lions Club) went back to Chatham to finish what they started… and they’re coming home as OBA Champs!

Starting the tournament last Friday, the team easily dispatched the Mitchell Astros, 11-0. The bats stayed hot in the second game of the day, as our Giants defeated the Halton Hills Eagles by a score of 10-0.

On Saturday the team kept the momentum going as they defeated Wyoming 12-2.

Moving onto Sunday, the Giants maintained their strong defence as they went up against the Tecumseh Thunder, winning 4-0.

Heading into the Finals, Mother Nature decided that she wasn’t ready for the season to be over and forced a delay, postponing the game by a week.

Back in Chatham this weekend, our Giants had a rematch against Mitchell. The team opened the scoring in the first inning and then extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third before bringing in the finishing runs in the fourth, winning 5-0.

Congratulations on going undefeated and becoming OBA Champs, 18U.
