This past Saturday at the CSRD's Exterior Live Fire course, we honoured Mike Thoms, whose impact on firefighter safety can’t be overstated. Regional Fire Chief Sean Coubrough presented Mike with a certificate of appreciation for his amazing work. 👏🔥

Mike played a key role in developing the firefighter rehabilitation program used during our live fire training. He was always there to ensure members received vital checks, rest, and recovery after strenuous activity. In his role as Lead Rehab Officer, Mike helped keep hundreds of firefighters safe, often identifying small concerns before they became serious health issues.

While Mike has recently stepped back from his lead role, he continues to serve as a valued member of the Swansea Point Fire Department. His mission was always clear: keep our members safe.

We’re grateful for Mike’s dedication and service. The rehab program he helped create will benefit firefighters for many years to come. Thank you, Mike. 💙🚒
