He’s part Jack Russell, part Chihuahua zest,
A fifteen-year-old legend on a neighborhood quest.
With a swagger so bold and a spirit so bright,
He’s a tiny senior powerhouse—and a total delight!
​He trotted through our food bank doors,
With paws that have conquered a thousand floors.
At Peanut’s age, he’s seen it all,
From the rise of the mailman to the bounce of the ball.
​He doesn’t want kibble, he doesn’t want tea,
He’s checking the vibes and the inventory.
He heard we serve coffee and came for a cup,
(Though we told him, "Sir, that’s for humans, pup!")
​So here’s to the dog with the greying snout,
Who knows exactly what life is about:
A warm welcome, a snack, and a community soul,
And maybe a drop from a caffeine bowl?
​Peanut is proof that age is just a number—and that our food bank is the place to be!
