We recognize June as National Indigenous Peoples Month, and opaskawiowi pîsim / or ota'imin pîsim, is known as either the 🐣 Egg Hatching Moon or the 🍓 Heart Berry Moon in nēhiyawēwin or miisamssootaa, the Long Rains Moon in Niitsitapi.

🌧️ This moon asks that we notice the emergence of small beings as they hatch and grow, and that we renew our kinship with the Land and all that it offers us for sustenance.

🗓️ Join us at the Indigenous Summer Solstice Community Gathering at the Ardrossan Recreation Complex on June 21, 9 am to 7 pm.

It’s been a wet few days! You’ve probably seen ponding on roads and high water in ditches and stormwater ponds, this is normal. The stormwater system is designed to store the rain and drain the water gradually to reduce flooding. Right now the system is working as intended.

County staff are responding to localized flooding issues and proactively addressing high-priority issues.
• To report an immediate threat of flooding to private property or roadways call 780-417-7100.
• To report a sewer backup or flooded stormwater facilities call 780-467-7785.

⚠️ Heavy rainfall reminders:
• Check downspouts are clear and pointing at least 1.5 metres away from basement wall.
• Periodically check your sump pump
• Using less water during heavy rain helps reduce the demand on our sewer system and reduce back ups.
