We're back to our board member spotlights, introducing the people behind Friends through the books they love.

You'll likely recognize Wendy, who currently serves as our Past President after leading Friends as President from 2023-2025. During her time in the role, she played a key part in revitalizing Friends with her ideas, energy, and sheer force of will.

THANK YOU, FRIENDS! 💛

Our 2nd Annual Book Swap & Social was a huge success, and it’s all thanks to you.

It was such a lovely afternoon filled with book swaps, great conversations, and a shared love of reading. We loved seeing so many of you connecting over books, enjoying snacks, and making the most of the space. All while little ones stayed busy with their own books, crafts, and games (win-win).

Thank you to everyone who attended, purchased tickets, bought bookmarks and stickers, made donations, and cheered us on. And a special thank you to our incredible sponsors and volunteers who helped bring this event to life, we truly couldn’t do it without you.

We’d love to hear your feedback for next year, send us a DM or comment to let us know how we can make it even better!

Here's a sample of some photos from our photographer.

We'll eventually have more on our website and uncropped (thanks Instagram) so stay tuned!

We have so much to be grateful for 🥰

We have already had amazing support for our 2nd Annual Book Swap & Social with coffee and cookie donations from Roasti Coffee company and Confetti Sweets (two of Sherwood Park's best) but also with raffle prize donations from Lavender & Lace Boutique, 70 Acre Brew Co., Riveted By Design, Muscle Elements Health & Wellness, Kyle Kasawski NDP and even more!

We're sharing some of our raffle prizes as a sneak peek. Each adult ticket comes with 2 raffle prize entries but additional ones can be purchased for $5.

Okay we have to break down some of these highlights.

1. Lavender & Lace donated not 1 new Lucy Score book, but 3! In this economy!? Have we mentioned how grateful we are yet? Along with a "Books are Better than People" glass tumbler, and SO much more!

2. 70 Acre donated branded swag, beer and a gift card. Mmm beer. Have you had their new dessert pretzels yet?? 🤤

3. This basket is thanks to a private donor and Riveted by Design. Wait until you see their handmade leather journals, they are gorgeous! 😍 We also have a handmade "Just One more Chapter" pottery mug (because we've all been there), a reading shirt, a Friends tote and even more reading goodies!

4. Muscle Element's package includes a 1 hour massage and more! After all the planning for this event, there may be some stiff competition for this one between the board members.

We still have 5 more raffle prizes so don't miss out. We hope to see you Saturday.
