UPDATE- the cat has been found. She was spotting in the field north of Tim’s drive through. She had been sitting on the cement wall. We have been watching a trap since midnight and have just checked to find her safe inside with all food eaten. Thanks to everyone for sharing and caring. We have examined her and she is full of milk. The rescue will be coming today to collect her and reunite her with her kittens.

URGENT - LOST NURSING ORANGE MOM CAT. Saturday April 25th a mom cat escaped from her carrier while being transferred to a vehicle. This took place at the Tim Hortons at 89 and 124 that is under construction. She is friendly but will be scared. She ran towards the subdivision behind Foodland but could be anywhere in the area. Please contact Feral Cat Rescue if you see her. 519 278 0707.

UPDATE: We are all extremely heart broken to advise that the cat had multiple fractures on both sides of the pelvis and tail and spine. He had internal bleeding and nerve damage to his bladder and sphincter. Which means is is unable to urinate and dedicate. He is very anemic and has a very poor prognosis. We reviewed his X-rays and condition with more than one vet and euthanasia was the best option for this sweet boy. He is now free of pain and was loved and not alone during his final day. Thank you to everyone for your prayers for him.

This cat was found laying injured in the bushes along side a walking trail by Morden Drive in Shelburne. He is unable to use his back legs and his tail is broken. He has likely been hit by a car. He is intact, approximately 4 years old and friendly. We had been contacted about a male cat fitting the same description that was lost from Pineview gardens 3 days ago and retuned him to them and advised he would need a vet. They contacted us 3 hours later to say it’s not there cat and we picked him up immediately and started pain management. He has been dropped off to our vet today for X-rays and bloodwork. He will continue on pain management while we navigate a plan of care. Please contact the rescue if anyone knows this cat. 519 278 0707.

We are in-need of new cat room attendants for Tuesday mornings. It is a 2-3 hour commitment, where you’ll ensure the cats’ rooms are good to go for the day… so they may create their havoc! Of couse playing with the cats is the bonus.
We promise it’s the most rewarding experience.

Today we had a 6 month old kitten surrendered that had eaten a shoe lace 5 days ago. She was not able to eat and was vomitting. The kitten needed emergency surgery immediately. We were lucky to find Dr Levy at the Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Collingwood. After palpating the abdomen and taking X-Rays it was clear that the shoe lace was lodged in the small intestines. The sugery was a success and sweet Lily should recover perfectly. We are picking her up at 7 am Monday morning and we were quoted a reduced rate of $2,800. ( This type of surgery usually costs $4,400. ) we are reaching out for help to cover Lily’s surgery. Donations may be sent by E-transfer to [email protected] Lily is very thankful to everyone for saving her life tonight. We thank each and every one of you for your support. Please feel free to call the rescue if you would prefer to donate by cash or cheque and we will arrange pick up. 519 278 0707.
