One week after our first ever Bike to Beat Cancer - Shelburne 32 event. Time to reflect. Did we cure cancer - no. Did we raise awareness - yes. Did we raise monies - yes, over $5,000.00 for the benefit of The Canadian Cancer Society. I want to thank each person who participated in some fashion. The many volunteers from the Ingomar Fire Department, the kitchen staff who made us breakfast, the volunteers from Shelburne Fire Department, the local business partners who offered donations, the people who rode their bicycles in our event, the barbeque and frying volunteers, the people who helped with setup and take down. The people who donated monies for the cause. The individuals who took pictures and to the one who made our video - thank you. Most importantly a personal thank you to each and every one of you who supported the people in your circle by showing them that they are not alone in their journey. Together, we raised awareness and monies and proved that together we are stronger than cancer! Thank you.

A big, massive thank you to the Shelburne Fire Department for assisting with our Bike to Beat Cancer - Shelburne 32 event this past Sunday. The Shelburne Department provided two es**rt vehicles to assist with keeping our riders safe and helping out with the occasional breakdown. It's just great to see the community spirit and our two Departments joining forces for such a great cause. Again, thank you so much!!

At the outset of this event, we had but two goals. Awareness and to raise monies to support the Canadian Cancer Society. We reached both targets. The support from the community and beyond for our first time event was fantastic. We had multiple riders of all ages, our breakfast and barbeque were well attended and the overall support from so many was incredible. We will be posting videos and photos in the coming days but for today - simple message - thank you!
