To whom it may concern.
It is with deep sadness that our members are announcing that, effective June 30, 2026, the Shediac Lions Club will be ceasing all activities in the greater Shediac area.
After 65 years of service to the community, we are too few members to handle the job and recruiting new members has become very difficult.
We will be donating the balance of the funds in our accounts, approximately $85,000, to the Town of Shediac. All funds donated are to be applied to the construction of the new recreational centre, walking track. This will ensure that all funds we have raised in the community will continue to benefit the residents of greater Shediac.
We wish to thank all who have supported the Shediac Lions during the past 65 years. Sincere regards,

C’est avec une profonde tristesse que nos membres annoncent que, à compter du 30 juin 2026, le Lions Club de Shediac mettra fin à toutes ses activités dans la région de Shediac.
Après 65 ans au service de la communauté, nous sommes trop peu nombreux pour assumer cette mission et le recrutement de nouveaux membres est devenu très difficile.
Nous ferons don du solde de nos comptes, soit environ 85 000 dollars, à la ville de Shediac. L’intégralité de ces fonds sera affectée à la construction du nouveau centre de loisirs et de la piste de marche. Cela permettra de garantir que tous les fonds que nous avons collectés au sein de la communauté continueront à profiter aux habitants de la région de Shediac.
