Huge thank-you you to shebandowan fire team . They completed the advanced care first responder course . It was long days with many scenarios. Everyone passed with flying colors. We now have certified fire and first response for shebandowan. The team has been putting in many hours of training and are working together very well.

Also a big thank you to all the residents for your patience for not setting yourself on fire or falling off a roof until we were trained up to respond. 😀

Thank you everyone for the amazing support.

🔥🎶 COMMUNITY. MUSIC. HEART. $2,500 FOR THE SHEBANDOWAN VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT! 🎶🔥

What started as a few nights of great music, good friends, and bringing our community together turned into something even more meaningful. ❤️

We are incredibly proud and grateful to share that Back Road Union, Shebandowan Shores, Kashabowie River Resort Campers Association and AMK Outdoor and Water Sports had the absolute pleasure of presenting a $2,500 donation to the Shebandowan Volunteer Fire Department, raised through our fundraising efforts and gigs in support of the department.

This was never just about the music. It was about coming together as a community to support the people who are there when we need them most. 🚒❤️

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out, donated, danced, sang along, bought something, shared a laugh, or simply supported the cause. Every person who showed up helped make this possible.

And to the Shebandowan Volunteer Fire Department — thank you for everything you do to protect and support our communities. We are honoured to be able to give back and help toward the equipment you need to continue doing what you do.
From all of us at Back Road Union…
🎸 The music was ours.
❤️ The generosity was yours.

🚒 The impact belongs to our whole community.
$2,500 raised. One incredible community. One very worthy cause.

Now THAT is something worth singing about! 🎶🔥❤️

Today was tough. We covered, hoses, ropes, scba, auto extrication, watched fire evolution on rooms when ignited and also crawling thru confined spaces with our gear and tanks on.
Tomorrow is more; autoextrications,
scba,
ladders,
Ropes.
Firefighter safety.

Day 1 of training at firecon, at Thunder Bay training centre for the team members of Shebandowan Fire.

08/20/2026

At midnight tonight ..

The Restricted Fire Zone (RFZ) previously in place for the Northwest Region and a small portion of the Northeast Region will be revoked, effective Thursday, August 20 at 12:01 a.m. local time.

The Ministry of Natural Resources would like to thank Ontarians and visitors for doing their part to help prevent wildland fires and keep communities safe. Please continue to use extreme caution and follow Ontario’s Outdoor Fires Regulations when having an outdoor fire -

ontario.ca/outdoorfirerules.

The province will continue to assess wildland fire hazard conditions, and an RFZ designation may be reinstated in higher risk areas if the fire hazard and fire activity warrants it.
