Sexsmith and District Museum Society

Sexsmith and District Museum Society Sexsmith and district museum society is a volunteer based history group. Bringing our past back into our present.

Our history is who we are and where we came from. Something we should never forget or take for granted.

Don’t forget to register. Ribbon cuttings to take place, after lunch, about 1:30 for our new exhibits.

Well, to say the crew at the Anderson Hall Museum on 99 Street in Sexsmith has been quiet would be an understatement. We’ve been pretty much full out since January.

Painting the front of Anderson Hall was a feat in itself. With one experienced painter determined to teach the non-painter, it took us eight days to bring the walls back to a fresh new start. At times, all we could do was laugh as every article seemed to need moving six or seven times. Back and forth those treasures went until, finally, a big sigh of relief and satisfaction could be released.

We are very happy with the outcome, along with the new exhibits and staging that have taken shape throughout the hall. Now comes the best part, sharing it with all of you. You’ll just have to come see it for yourself.

Saturday was a fun day on 99th Street during the Christmas in Sexsmith event.
Those of us working at The Anderson Hall Museum want to thank you for stopping by. We even got to visited with people we hadn’t seen since the old school bus days. What a treat! The Frocks & Fashions Exhibit kept Suzanne busy with her constant tours, and her ever-present smile said it all. And now the featured photo? Without a doubt, the most laughable moment of the day. This gentleman absolutely slayed his sweater, and he welcomed the photo-op with abounding enthusiasm. Again, thank you, everyone, for your warmth, your enthusiasm, and your wonderful greetings. You all helped make it a wonderfully memorable museum day.
