Last Wednesday, we went on a trip to Kenora and took a boat cruise at the Lake of the Woods! Thank you everyone for joining us and hope to see you again next summer!

We had a trip booked to go to Beausejour to a Bee Farm but it got canceled from the heat. We booked for a day in August. On August 10, We are going to Golden Bay Honey Farm. We get to go see the bee's and come back and make a beeswax candle. Everyone will take a bag lunch and we will eat at the farm. The cost is Members - $30.00, non-members $35.00. 📢 PAID INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES – Gordon Howard Seniors Centre in partnership with Success Skills Centre

Looking to gain valuable Canadian work experience? Gordon Howard Seniors Centre is looking for 5 motivated interns to join our team through a 16-week paid internship program!

We are currently seeking interns for the following positions:

📚 1. Bookkeeper / Accountant

Assist with bookkeeping, financial records, and administrative tasks.

🔨 2. Building Maintenance/ Commercial Cleaner

Grass cutting, painting, cleaning and organizing storage areas, and small repair jobs. This position involves regular physical work.

🎉 3. Program Assistant

Help our Program Coordinator organize events, activities, and programs for seniors.

💻 4. Web Designer

Maintain and improve our website and online presence.

🎨 5. Graphic Designer / Digital Marketing

Create promotional materials, manage social media content, and help promote our programs.

✅ Internship Details
16-week full-time paid internship
35 hours per week
$16.00 per hour
📋 Eligibility

Applicants must:

-Be 30 years of age or younger.
-Be unemployed or underemployed.
- Immigrant Professional ( Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, Convention Refugee)

Before the internship begins, participants will complete 2 weeks of unpaid preparation, including:

-Employment Skills Review
-Intensive Business English Course
-Personalized job and training development plan

Throughout the internship, participants receive ongoing workplace supervision, regular check-ins, and coaching to help build skills and prepare for long-term employment.
