Interlake Sexual Exploitation Educators

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN — A 41-year-old former Catholic school employee is facing three additional charges after a sixth girl came forward with allegations of assault and sexual misconduct.

Police allege the incidents involved children who were 10 years old at the time and occurred at St. Mary’s Wellness and Education Centre between September 2025 and May 2026.

Hessam Aldin Sahrapour, 41, was additionally charged with:
❌ Assault
❌ Sexual Assault
❌ Sexual Interference

Sahrapour remains out of custody, with release conditions amended to prohibit contact with the sixth complainant, in addition to the five previous complainants.

Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools confirmed his employment has been terminated but has not disclosed his former position.

Sahrapour is scheduled to return to court on October 29, 2026.

Cybertip.ca is warning parents, caregivers and young people about an emerging sextortion tactic: offenders are using artificial intelligence to create fake sexual images of youth (sometimes using nothing more than a profile picture) and then threatening to share them unless the victim pays.

If this happens, don't pay and don't give in to demands. Get help.

Parents and caregivers can help by talking openly with youth about AI-generated images, reviewing privacy settings together and reminding them that they can come to a trusted adult if something happens online.

Toronto police have charged 44-year-old Dr. Dilan Dissanayake following an internet child exploitation investigation that began in January. Investigators allege electronic devices were used to access and possess child sexual abuse and exploitation material, with search warrants later executed at both his home and SickKids, where multiple devices were seized.

SickKids said Dissanayake was placed on immediate leave after being notified of the investigation, while the University of Toronto also placed him on administrative leave. The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario has temporarily suspended his medical licence. Police say there is currently no evidence linking the alleged offences to his work as a physician.

Honoured to be part of organizing the 20th year memorial event for Tracia Owen who passed away tragically by sexual exploitation in 2005. The planting of the trees and bench dedication at Sergeant Tommy Prince School in her memory serves as a way to reflect, give courage, and remind the students that they can speak up about sexual exploitation. 🦋
