Across Metro Vancouver, cities drastically cut permit delays. Surrey reduced building permit timelines 75% – from 16 weeks to just 4.
Builders now receive their security deposits back in 6 weeks, down from 6 MONTHS. A security deposit is money builders give the city to ensure required work – like roads and utilities – is completed. Shorter waits help builders move to the next project faster at a time of rising construction and financing costs.
