The students at Stephen Central got their hands dirty 🌳 Thanks to our environmental grant, they explored roots, learned the parts of a tree, reviewed math by calculating hole sizes and water amounts in litres, and even mastered using a shovel. The kids had an amazing day planting shade trees that they can point to with pride for years to come; when they return to the school or drive by in the future, they’ll be able to say, “We planted those trees.” 💚

Summer Academy Registration is now open: Teaching is rewarding work but it is also complex, fast-paced, and involves constant decision-making. Assessment for learning gives educators the clarity and structure needed to respond to student needs and create equitable learning environments where all students can succeed. This three-day course provides Junior and Intermediate educators with a practical, classroom-ready framework for using assessment for learning strategies to strengthen instruction, streamline workload, and increase student engagement. Participants will learn how to design clear learning goals, co-construct meaningful success criteria, gather and track evidence of learning, and use descriptive feedback and instructional adjustments to support diverse learners. By the end of the course, educators will feel more confident, more efficient, and better equipped to create learning environments where assessment drives instruction, students understand what success looks like, and meaningful learning can flourish.
