With the help of a King Township’s Enrichment Grant we upgraded our water pump this year from a one inch to a two inch. It has been a learning curve to control the power. Today we had our first of a few scheduled training sessions to show others how to use it. It went without incident I am happy to report. Not like some previous attempts!

Today was our official opening day and clean up…..of course as seems to be standard for our first spring event…it was pouring! But I am extremely happy to report everything that I wanted to get done and more, was achieved by eleven of us that showed up. Thankfully it didn’t rain the whole time!

A new bench was assembled for our Butterfly Garden and put in place, two new wheelbarrows also assembled, tons of cardboard was taken to cover the grass, where new plots are going. Landscape fabric was put down for new pathways, garbage was collected and taken across the bridge for pick up, piles of scrap metal was collected and picked up, tools were marked and put out for seasonal use. Wheelbarrow tires were pumped up ready for action. In fact there was only one thing on my list not done (or covered) which was expected.

We had a delivery today….very grateful to receive one free BigYellow Bag of soil from Zander Sod. We also purchased two ...

We had a delivery today….very grateful to receive one free BigYellow Bag of soil from Zander Sod. We also purchased two more, now we need the sun to come out to dry the very wet land so we can put it to good use.
