Rainbow Community Places was incorporated and registered as a charity in 2023 to facilitate the Toby’s Place and Dorothy’s Place programs that were started by Birchcliff Bluffs United Church at 33 East Road, Scarborough (Warden Ave. & Kingston Road). Toby’s Place and Dorothy’s Place are meeting a previously unmet need by offering support for members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in east Toronto an

d Scarborough. Toby’s Place – opened in September, 2017 – Mondays 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. Toby's Place is a free drop-in centre for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, 20 & under, questioning youth & their allies. Our purpose is to offer a safe space where youth can find mutual support in a welcoming community, enjoy arts and crafts, educational and fun programs and share dinner Dorothy’s Place – opened in October, 2018 – Mondays 11:30 a.m. Dorothy's Place is a free drop-in lunch program for older (50+) 2SLGBTQIA+ adults and seniors, modelled on Toby’s Place. Our purpose is to offer a safe space where older adults can find mutual support and find friendship in a welcoming community, focused around a hot lunch, with presentations by guest speakers, arts & crafts, karaoke, and intergenerational events with Toby’s Place.
