Together, we walked to raise awareness, support survivors, remember loved ones affected by breast cancer, and promote the importance of early detection.

Every step taken was a step toward hope, strength, and a healthier future for our community.

Vasantham has been recognized as a recipient of the 2026 Toronto Community Champion Award by the City of Toronto and United Way Greater Toronto. Grateful for this meaningful recognition of our continued commitment to serving and uplifting the community. ❤️

Today, Mayor Chow announced the recipients of our 2026 Toronto Community Champion Award.

Selected from across the city, these twenty-five organizations were chosen for the positive difference they’re making in their local communities. From organizations dedicated to serving refugees and Indigenous communities to those working to empower Toronto’s youth, the recipients remind us exactly what makes Toronto a special city: the people.

Our recipients will be honoured at a special ceremony in May. We’d like to extend our enormous gratitude towards our program partners United Way Greater Toronto and Enbridge Gas; this program would not be possible without their generosity.

This week, May 4 - 10, is . Today we reflect on the significance of this week and how we, as a organization, contribute to the betterment of our community.

This year’s theme is “Come together, Canada.” It’s a reminder that social connection is an important part of developing resiliency and maintaining your well-being.

But what does this really mean?

It is to let those that are facing mental health crisis or obstacles to realize they do not have to deal with their obstacles alone. They do not have to feel unworthy of a life filled with love and success. They are not the problem, and there is ALWAYS a solution.

We at Vasantham acknowledge that Mental Health is a complex topic that must be handled with the utmost respect and compassion. For some obstacles there may be quick and permanent solutions while others need a long term plan of action. Vasantham operates this way with the goal to make everyone we serve genuinely feel the sense of belonging, empowerment and clarity they deserve to live a long and fruitful life.
