Inclusivity creates opportunities for everyone to reach their full potential.
That has been the heart of the Moeen Centre since 1996.
Our organization was founded in memory of Moeen Alam, a physically disabled and developmentally challenged young man who tragically lost his life at the age of 18 in a house fire. In the face of personal loss, his mother, Qaisar Alam, transformed grief into purpose by creating a place where young adults with disabilities can find opportunities, support and a sense of belonging.
Today, our mission remains the same: to remove barriers in community participation while promoting greater independence, reducing isolation and helping young adults with physical and developmental disabilities reach their full potential.
For nearly 30 years, Moeen Centre has been committed to offering carefully thought-out, well-designed programs that improve reading, writing, math, fitness and the arts. While also focusing on everyday life skills, such as cleaning tables, folding clothes, watering plants, taking out the garbage, or even placing out lunch placements that support greater independence. We continue to see these accomplishments every day!
