There is a local I know who is in urgent need of some wet dog food (senior preferred).

These dogs did not originally belong to this individual, a neighbour passed away, and as a means to keep the elderly dogs together and in a familiar environment, they opted to take them in.

The dogs will only eat wet food and unfortunately I only have dry on hand. If anyone is interested in donating towards these two little doggos, it would be so greatly appreciated.

Physical donations can be dropped off, DM for address, otherwise my plan was to get a sponsor and pick some food up for them and deliver myself.

THE TRAGEDY OF BEING PERFECT: There is something we need to talk about when it comes to dogs in rescue.

Sometimes, the hardest dogs to get adopted are the ones with no tragic story to tell.

Make no mistake, their story may very well be tragic. But when a dog is found as a stray and brought to a shelter, we often have no history. We don’t know where they came from, what their life was like, or what circumstances led them to a shelter.

And sometimes, that lack of a story is exactly what stands between them and a home.

Meet Reggie.

A 7-year-old Shepherd mix who somehow found himself as a stray at a local shelter. He knows his commands. He understands boundaries. He knows how to behave in a home. He is respectful, gentle, incredibly well-mannered and, quite frankly, just about as close to a perfect dog as you could ask for. So how does a dog like Reggie end up homeless?

We don’t know.

And perhaps that’s part of the problem. We don’t have a heartbreaking backstory to share. We can’t tell you that he was abandoned after years of neglect, that he was surrendered because of a devastating family crisis, or that he has overcome some unimaginable hardship.

All we can tell you is who he is today.

And apparently, that isn’t enough.

Reggie hasn’t received a SINGLE adoption application.

Think about that for a moment. A beautifully behaved, loving, gentle dog who is already past the puppy stage, who knows how to be a wonderful companion, and who is waiting for someone to give him a chance.

No applications. No one asking to meet him. No one hoping to make him part of their family.

Is it because he’s 7? Is it because he doesn’t have a tragic story? We can’t say for certain. But we do know that dogs like Reggie are sitting in rescue, waiting for someone to look beyond their age and the unknown chapters of their past.

We may never know what happened to Reggie before he came into our care. But we know what he deserves now. A family. A comfortable bed. A person to love and a place where he will never have to wonder where he belongs again.

He doesn’t need a tragic story to deserve a happy ending. He just needs someone to see him.

Please don’t let Reggie be overlooked simply because we can’t tell you how his story began. We would really love to be able to tell you how it ends. Please share Reggie. His happily ever after is still waiting to be written.

⚠️ PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE REHOMING A DOG ⚠️

I need to say something that is incredibly hard to talk about, but it is necessary. If you are rehoming a dog, especially if you are listing it as "free to a good home"—you need to be aware of a horrific reality.

There are people out there actively looking for "free dogs" to use for meat. Yes, I said it. To eat.
This isn't a scare tactic. It is happening. When you post a dog for free, you are opening the door to anyone with ill intent. You cannot assume that everyone who responds has good intentions.
Do NOT skip the screening process. You must do your due diligence:

1. Ask for References: And actually call them. Ask for a vet reference.

2. Ask for ID: Verify who they are.
Get a copy of their driver’s license.

3. Do an Inhome Check / Home Visit: Ensure they can actually afford to care for the animal. Ask for a video tour of their home and yard.

4. Charge a Rehoming Fee: Even a small fee (e.g., 100) deters people looking for free meat. Do not waive it.

5. Meet in Person: Never let the dog go with someone you met only online without meeting them face-to-face first.

I presume something with his sinus’. It’s been an up and down battle, but he’s seeming to be on the decline and after an update its apparent he needs medication.
We are looking for funds to get him booked into the online vet to get him some meds immediately!

I know so many people were curious … honestly I didn’t want to update anything until he arrived at the facility. 😮‍💨 BUT HE IS SAFE. AND HE IS SLEEPING!!!

I have a few thank yous I need to make but I will do a post tomorrow. I’m still trying to wrap my head around this entire day.
This was hands down my most stressful transfer to date, but the transfer team came together and reminded me the power of teamwork, and having people behind you when your unable to be 100% accessible.
Archie’s care team will sit down and discuss our next steps and a proper assessment, in the meantime he will decompress. Stay tuned for updates!

Anyone with experience willing to foster a dog as early as TONIGHT OR drive him to safety at the kennel in Norwood?
He is at risk of euthanasia. He does have a bite record - but he is also known to live a normal life in a foster home for over a year. We are looking for a home with no children, and someone with experience/knowledge. He thrives in a quiet, low stimuli environment.
We do have muzzle for him.
PLS THIS IS URGENT AND LIFE OR DEATH.

I would like to see this dog properly assessed before we make such a huge call. Sure there are plenty of other dogs in the world I could fight for, put my money towards, - but this is a One Paw dog and I promised him I would fight until there was no other option. We have secured boarding for him again - I just need to get him safe as the foster wants him gone and is threatening euthanasia tomorrow morning if he is not moved.
