Algoma SwiftWatch is the portal for all things Chimney Swift in Sault Ste. Sault Ste. Marie is significant because it hosts the largest roost of Chimney Swifts in Canada! These birds are a species at risk which is listed as threatened. Our project will monitor their population and conduct outreach in the community to promote awareness, understanding, and a sense of pride towards this unique specie

s! Anything Chimney Swift or aerial insectivore related can be posted on our page. However, reports of swift sightings should be reported to Bird Studies Canada, Ministry of Natural Resources, or sent directly to our email.
